I. Warm up.
Teacher: Hello boys and girls! I`m glad to see you.
Thank you for the greeting, sit down, please.
Well, how are you today?
Pupils: I am fine, thank you. (Answer one by one)
Teacher: And, how is your family? Your mum, dad,
brother…?
Pupils: (Answer one by one)
II. Revision.
Teacher: Well, everybody is fine. And I think our mask and
monsters are fine too.
Show me your masks, please.
Pupils: (show and give the teacher their projects with a
description)
Teacher: (takes the pupils` works, saying her opinion and
hangs them on the board under the heading “Our
First Project Work”)
Look, children, this is our first project work. I am
happy to see all your masks and monsters.
And now, let`s listen to your stories about them.
(takes one of the works and asks).
Whose mask is this? Sasha`s?
Pupils: No, it is not.
Teacher: Dasha`s?
Pupils: No, it is not.
Teacher: Roma`s?
Pupils: Yes, this is Roma`s mask.
Teacher: Well done! Please, Roma, come here and present
your project.
Pupils: (three or four pupils speak about their masks).
Teacher: (after the presentation asks the pupil and the class
two three questions about the project & says the
mark)
III. Role play “Meet the Clown”
Teacher: Look, children! And this is my mask. Who is this?
Pupils: This is a clown.
Teacher: Right! Has he got a happy face?
Pupils: No, he hasn’t.
Teacher: Has he got a sad face?
Pupils: Yes, he has.
Teacher: But, why? Who can help my clown? (Smb. is
knocking at the door.) Listen! What’s this? Can you
hear a knock? (The teacher knocks at her table, to
help the children to understand the word.) Let’s see,
who’s this, children? (The teacher comes to the
door, opens it and enters with a clown.)
Pupils: This is a clown! Hooray!
Clown: Right! I’m a clown, hello everybody!
Pupils, teacher: Hello, Clown. Nice to see you. Can we ask you
some questions? We’re good reporters, you
know!
Clown: Yes, you can. I like questions very much.
Pupils, clown (ask 8-10 questions):
- What is your name? My name is Tim.
- How old are you? I’m 10.
- How are you? I’m OK, thanks.
- Have you got a…? - Yes, I have.
- Can you…? – No, I can’t.
IV. Presentation of Colours.
Teacher: And can you help my clown, dear Tim? Look, he’s
very sad!
Clown: Well, listen to my song , I think it’ll help your mask.
(The clown sings a song and colors the sad mask of
the teacher’s clown.)
Red, Yellow, Green and Blue
Now, my children, I help you!
Red, Yellow, Black and White
Now your mask’s all right!
Teacher: Oh, well done! Now my mask is wonderful! Thank
you, dear clown, now you can rest a little. Sit down,
please . Children, look at the mask again! Has the
clown get a happy face now?
Pupils: Yes, he has.
Teacher: Why is his face happy now? ...because (phonetic drill
of new words) his hair is now. ( Hangs a flashcard.)
Yellow, all together, please!
Pupils: Yellow, yellow.
Teacher: His eyes are . ( Hangs a flash-card.) Black,
all together, please.
Pupils: Black, black.
Teacher: His mouth is . ( Hangs a flash-card.) Red, say
after me, please.
Pupils: Red, red.
Teacher, pupils (teacher goes on with the presentation):
His nose is .
His balloon is .
His face is .
So all these colors:
Black, yellow, red, blue, green and white help my
mask. Do you like it now? Yes, we do. It’s nice!
V. Practice.
Teacher: And now, pupils, let’s open our books at this page.
(PB p.37) Let’s read the colors.
Pupils: (read the colors)
Teacher: And now, look here. Can you read and write these
colors now? Try.
black
red
blue
green
white
EDR, ENERG,
LLYEOW, ABLCK,
IWTHE, LUBE.
Pupils: (say the right colors, one of the pupils comes up to the
board, writes it, the rest pupils agree or disagree and
write down the correct word into their exercise-
books).
Pair-work.
Teacher: And now let’s listen to the game: “Show me the
green kite” (PB p.37)
CS 29. Listen, look and point (pupils listen and point
to the object named on the tape twice).
Teacher: Can we play this game now, without the cassette?
Let’s try. Turn to your partner and say “Show me
the green ice-cream”.
Nikita, let’s play this game with you (together with
one of the pupils the teacher demonstrates how to
play this game, then the children play themselves,
the teacher goes around helping with vocabulary
and pronunciation).
VI. Reading and writing
(Work with the AB p.37)
Teacher: And now, children, open your Abs at this page,
please.
Pupils: (read the words, the teacher helps).
Teacher: Now write the missing word and color the apple,
umbrella , … and bicycle, please.
Pupils: (work, one of the pupils reads the sentence).
VII. Mini-Project Work.
(Team-Work)
Teacher: So, your pictures are beautiful now. The animals
have got the green, red, blue… toys. But these
animals, look (shows the pictures) the monkey, the
hippo and the elephant haven’t got any toys. Now
let’s help them. We need three teams (divides the
children into three teams and gives them their
pictures).
- You are Monkeys.
- You are Hippos.
- You are Elephants.
Please take these pictures, complete the sentences and
then stick the toys and the fruit and write the color.
Pupils: (work with their projects).
Teacher: (goes around helping)
Pupils: (the teams show and read their projects one by one;
the winner is the team the first done the work).
Teacher: (thanks the pupils and hangs their works on the
board).
VIII. Ending the lesson
Teacher: (Tells the marks for the lesson and gives the
homework).
Homework: 1. Copy the words from the color flowers into
the vocabulary (gives to each pupil a flower
with the new words).
