Цель: активизировать и обобщить лексико-грамматический материал по теме

«Городская жизнь. Лондон.»

Задачи:

Личностные УУД:

- проявлять понимание и уважение к ценностям культуры другой страны

- проявлять толерантное отношение и доброжелательность к собеседникам.

Метапредметные УУД:

- развитие коммуникативной компетенции, включая умение взаимодействовать с

окружающими

- развитие учебных действий, включающих поиск и выделение нужной информации

- осуществление регулятивных действий самонаблюдения, самоконтроля, самооценки

в процессе коммуникативной деятельности на иностранном языке. Оценивать

результаты деятельности (своей, чужой)

I. Организационный момент.

T: Good morning, children! I’m glad to see you! Today we have an unusual lesson.

T: Sit down, please! Is everything all right with you? How are you?

Let’s begin our English lesson.

Britain. But it has the official name. Could you name it?

you. The bus will stop at the stations let’s speak about them when the bus is coming up.

of interesting historical and modern places to visit. Today we are going to visit some

interesting places in London. You can see these places, read and listen to the information

about them. And can do some tasks. But first let’s see what you know about London.

4) Why is City called the heart of the business and

financial life of London? (because about half a million people work in the City)

5) Where are places of interest situated? (in West End)

6) What is the name of the one of the well-known

7) Why is East End district for working people?

(because there are many factories, workshops, docks there.)

8) What is the West End?(The West End is the part of London, where rich people live.)

- What river does London stand on?

- Crossing the river by the tower Bridge you can see the Tower of London.

- (слайд 22 Tower) It is one of the oldest buildings in London. Many centuries ago it was a

fortress, a royal palace and then a prison. Now it is a museum of arms (оружия). What do

VIII.Writing

T.: Our excursion comes to the end. And now we'll have writing practice. (слайд 26)

One of the tourists wrote a letter to their relatives. There is an extract from this letter. (

names of main London sights. Write down your name and surname on the sheet.

Use the words: Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, the

Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament,

We walked through London's streets. We saw (1)…… where all members of

Parliament discuss the Kingdom’s problems . Near this place we saw a very wonderful tower

with a clock, (2)…… , a beautiful bridge – (3)…….. - which connect two banks of the river

Thames.

Of course, we couldn’t miss (4)……., the residence of the Queen and (5)… …. where many

queens and kings were married or buried there.

At the last we saw (6)…… This building was used as a tower, as a prison but now it’s

London is the capital of Great Britain. It is the largest city in Britain and one of the

largest cities in the world. It is a very old city. It is two thousand years old. About 9 million

people live in London. London is a big port. It is situated on the river Thames. There are 3

parts in London: the City, the West and the East End.

The City is the heart of the business and financial life of the country. About half a

million people work in the City. There are many offices, firms and banks in this part of

London.

The West End is the centre of London. There are many sights there. Here are the

historical palaces and the famous parks such as Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St. James's

Park. In the West End you can see Buckingham Palace, the Palace of Westminster, which is

the seat of Parliament.

There are many museums, libraries and galleries in London. The Tate Gallery is one of

the well-known galleries in London. Henry Tate was a sugar manufacturer. He was fond

of paintings and collected many pictures.

The British Museum is a very interesting place in London. It was founded in 1753.

The library of this museum has a lot of books.

The West End is the part of London, where rich people live. It is the area of the

largest department stores, cinemas and hotels.

The East End is the district for poor people, workers, dockers. There are many

factories, workshops, docks there.
