Тип урока: комбинированный.
Форма организации познавательной деятельности: индивидуальная, групповая,
коллективная.
Цели урока:
образовательные:
- совершенствовать навыки поискового чтения.
развивающие:
- создать условия для развития памяти, воображения и внимания учащихся;
-содействовать развитию умений речевой деятельности.
воспитательные:
- способствовать формированию интереса к изучению культуры страны изучаемого языка;
- развитие умений работать в коллективе;
-содействовать формированию толерантности в отношении к культуре своего и других
народов.
Оборудование урока: учебник английского языка 8 класса «New Matrix», рабочая тетрадь к
учебнику «New Matrix», компьютер, проектор, доска, видеоролики.
Ожидаемые результаты: у детей будут совершенствоваться умения и навыки говорения и
поискового чтения.
Структура урока:
1. Начало урока (2 мин).
1.1. Организационный момент.
1.2. Постановка цели.
2. Речевая зарядка (5 мин.)
2.1. Упражнение 1 на стр.108
3. Совершенствование навыков поискового чтения (10 мин)
3.1. Упражнение 1 на стр.108
4. Просмотр видео про Улуру и Хорс Мемориал (5 мин.)
5. Практика говорения (диалогической речи) (5 мин.)
5.1. Talking about Russia
5. Заключительный этап (5 мин).
5.1. Подвести итоги урока;
5.2. Объяснить и записать домашнее задание;
5.3. Поблагодарить учащихся за урок.

Today we will spend our lesson working on a
very interesting theme - the wonderful places of
our world (culture focus). We’ll do some work
on discussing, reading and listening. Let’s begin
the lesson. Please, open your books on page 108.

Exercise 1. Do you know what the places in the
pictures are and where they are? Do you know
such wonderful places in Tuva?
And now we’ll do ex.1. Read the article and
complete the missing information. Is the task

Students look at the photographs and answer the
question.
Students do this exercise on their own. Give them
a time limit, for example 10 minutes.
The text is recorded, so if you like, students can
listen to the recording while they read. Check the
answers with the class.

Size: 335m high, 9km round.
Origin of the name Ayers Rock: named after the
South Australia premier, Sir Henry Ayers, by
William Giles.
What happens at sunset: It dramatically changes
colour.
What lies under the rock: Land sacred to
Aboriginals

Discuss these questions.

Russia?
2. What are they?
3. Why are they important?

Ask students to discuss the questions in small
groups and feed back their ideas to the class.
Optional activity:
List some important places of interest in Russia
on the board. Divide the class into small groups
and ask each group to choose a place. For
homework, ask the groups to do some research
and prepare a short presentation about their
place. They can use the library, the internet, and
ask their families. Groups give their
presentations in the next lesson.
Alternatively, ask groups to prepare a poster
about the place.
