Цели урока:
1) образовательные:
- тренировать лексические навыки;
- совершенствовать навыки говорения (диалогической и монологической речи)
2) развивающие:
- развивать умения вести дискуссию;
- развивать речемыслительные и познавательные способности.
3) воспитательные:
- воспитывать умения работать в парах;
- повышать мотивацию к изучению английского языка.
Ожидаемые результаты: у детей будет развиваться коммуникативные навыки, умения
вести разговор, выражать свое мнение, задавать вопросы, отвечать на вопросы приятеля.
Оборудование урока: учебник английского языка 8 класса «New Matrix», рабочая
тетрадь к учебнику «New Matrix», компьютер, классная доска.
Структура урока:
1. Начало урока (3 мин).
1.1. Организационный момент.
1.2. Постановка цели.
2 Речевая зарядка (5 мин)
2.1. Упражнение 6 стр. 94
3. Практика говорения (диалогической речи) (20 мин)
3.1. Упражнение 7 стр. 94
3.2. Упражнение 8 стр. 94
3.3. Упражнение 9 стр. 95
3.4. Упражнение 10 стр. 95
4. Практика говорения (монологической речи) (10 мин)
4.1. Упражнение 11 стр. 95
5. Заключительный этап (5 мин).
5.1. Подвести итоги урока;
5.2. Объяснить и записать домашнее задание;
5.3. Поблагодарить учащихся за урок.
Ход урока
1. Начало урока (3 мин)
1.1. Организационный момент
T: Hello, everybody! I’m glad to see you!
P: Hello, teacher!
T: Sit down, please. How are you?
P: We’re fine! Thank you!
T: What date is it today? Chechena, come to the blackboard an write down the date, please.
P: Today is the 12
of February.
T: Thank you! Ok. Let’s start our lesson.

T: Today we will talk about free time. Please, open your books on page 94. Ok. Let’s start our
lesson. We’ll do ex.6-11 today.
2 Речевая зарядка (5 мин)
T: Exercise 6. Discuss these questions with a partner.
(Ask students to discuss the questions in pairs and then with another pair. Groups feed back ideas
to the class).
1. What kinds of sports events are popular in Russia?
2. Do you think sport can unite communities? How?
3. What kinds of problems can sports fans create?
4. Практика говорения (диалогической речи) (20 мин)
T: Exercise 7. In pairs, look at the pictures on page 95. What activities are the people doing?
(Students discuss the pictures in pairs and then feed back to the class).
Possible answers: The pictures show:
1. Rock climbers, preparing their ropes.
2. A group of men playing chess. You can see the board and the chessmen (pieces).
3. A young woman reading a book and eating an apple.
4. A group of women watching a film at the cinema. You can see popcorn.
5. A group of racing cars on a race track. There’s a big crowd in the background.
T: Exercise 8. Which activities do you like? Which activities would you like to do?
(Students discuss in pairs then feed back to the class. Which activity is the most popular? Which
activity would most people like to do?)
T: Exercise 9. Work with a partner. Interview each other to find out about free-time activities.
Make notes about your partner’s answers. Ask questions about these things: your partner’s
favourite free-time activity, the length of time spent on that activity each week, any other
activities he/she enjoys, any sport your partner does.
(Ask the students to prepare their questions before they work in pairs. Monitor the students while
they prepare their questions and help them if necessary, especially with form and tenses. Tell the
students that they will be reporting their findings, and this will be easier if their notes are clear.)
T: Exercise 10. Find another pair. Ask them your questions and answer theirs. Make a note of
their answers and any other interesting information. Move around the class talking to different
pairs until you have asked everybody.
(Ask the students to keep in their pairs as they interview other pairs. Students in each pair can
take turns to take notes and ask the questions).

4. Практика говорения (монологической речи) (10 мин)
T: Exercise 11. Report back to the class. Answer these questions, giving any extra information
you found out.
What is the most popular free-time activity? the least popular free-time activity? the most
popular sport? … most unusual activity?
(Ask students to look at the information they have gathered and use it to answer the questions. In
pairs, the students then prepare what they are going to say and report back to the whole class).
