“Travelling”
Цели:
Обучающие:
1) формирование навыков аудирования;
2) отработка лексики по теме «Travelling»;
3) совершенствование навыков устной речи
Развивающие:
1) развитие интереса к изучению иностранного языка;
2) развитие творческого мышления;
3) развитие мотивации и познавательной активности;
Воспитательные:
воспитание умения работать в группах;
воспитание уважения к иноязычной культуре.
Тип урока: актуализация знаний по теме «Путешествие»;
Вид урока: комбинированный;
Оборудование: картинки с изображением разных видов транспорта,
презентация.
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент.
Teacher: Good-morning!
Sit down, please. I expect no one is away?
Well now let s begin. Dear pupils let s try to guess the topic of our lesson. I ve
prepared a crossword puzzle for you. If you guess all the words correctly, you will
be able to name the topic of our lesson.
1) A special ticket which includes travel on buses and the tube.
2) A special sign for parking a car or a bike.
3) The London Underground.
4) Travelling by railway means travelling by..
5) A one-way ticket.
6) The busiest airport in Britain.
7) Travelling by air means travelling by..
8) A tourist bus.
9) A place where you can buy “package” holidays.

Pupils: Travelling
Teacher: Right you are. And we are going to speak on this topic today as much as
possible, to memorize the new words, to make up dialogues. You will be doing a
lot of different things.
II Аудирование грамматических структур.
1) Анна уже приехала в Лондон.
2) Мои родители никогда не путешествовали вторым классом. Они
всегда путешествовали первым.
3) Вы уже зарегистрировали свой багаж? Нет еще.
4) Ты когда-нибудь путешествовал скорым поездом?
5) Они только, что прошли таможенный досмотр.
6) Я видел справочную минуту назад.
7) Мы недавно узнали о его приезде.
8) Вы купили билет туда и обратно (в оба конца).
9) У пассажиров было мало багажа.
10) Я не уверена, что он успел на самолет.
11) Билетная касса внизу.
12) Он рассказал всем о своем отправлении.
III. Аудирование и обсуждение прослушанного текста. (ex37 p72)
Listen to the dialogue and say where the conversation is taking place (at an airport,
at a railway station, in a port). Listen again and say what words helped you know
the location.
IV Развитие навыков диалогической речи.
Let s revise your vocabulary. Look at the blackboard.
1) Read and translate the words and expressions.
2) Think of examples of some sentences using these words and expressions.
3) Using these words and expressions make up a dialogue of your own.
На доске слова и выражения:
Arrival, departure, check-in, to check-in, fare, customs, booking -office, prolong,
entrance visa, to declare, fare, to miss the plane/train, to board the plane/the ship,
to pay extra money for overweight luggage, to get through passport control, fight,
travel-card, fast train.
V. Релаксационная пауза.
Teacher: I see you are tired. Let’s relax.
Clap your hands when you hear words about travelling:
To enjoy luxury travel, to be dangerous, to sail across the ocean, speedy cars, to
suffer from unknown diseases, to fill in the declaration, to look out of the window,
to the departure lounge, to call the police, to get through the customs.
VI. Развитие навыков и умений монологической речи.
Teacher:
1). Every year a lot of people visit many places. Can you think of any reasons for
travelling? Complete the word web.
Why do people travel?
Pupils: (примерные ответы)
1) to meet people
2) to visit new places
3) to rest from hard work
4) to spend their money
5) to learn about art and culture
6) they want to change their life
7) they want to investigate the world
8) they travel because of curiosity
9) they travel when they feel down or stressed out
10) they have a sense of adventure.
2). Before planning to travel you probably would like to get as much information
as possible. Where can you get the information about travelling?
3). People who plan travelling should decide what things to take. A good decision
will make a journey more pleasant and comfortable. Which of the following things
you think you will need if you are going to have holidays abroad?
4). Please, have a look at some pictures that I have prepared for you. I would like
to know what you think about these kinds of transport. Работа с презентацией:

Answer the following questions:
a) Which is the quickest method of travelling?
b) Which is the most comfortable?
c) Which is the cheapest and which is the most expensive?

g) What dangers can a traveler face today?
h) What knowledge and skills can be useful for a traveler nowadays?

Домашнее задание.
Describe the most awful trip you have ever had. It can be a real or an imaginary
story. The guidelines from exercise 66 at page 83 help you.
5). People like travelling in different ways. W hat would you like to advise them?
6). There are many proverbs about travelling. Find the other half of these English
proverbs. How do you interpret them?

7). Discuss the situations and suggest a way out.
A. It is 6 o clock on Sunday. Neil is in Liverpool. He has been visiting his old
school friends there. He has to be in his office in London at 9 o clock Monday
morning. He is late for his fight. What should he do?

B. On arrival to Moscow from Rome, Sheila collects her luggage at the baggage
reclaim. When she opens the suitcase at home, she finds out that the things in it are
not hers. What should she do?
