Bismarck’s program centered squarely on insurance programs designed to increase productivity, and focus the political attentions oferman workers on supporting the Junker's government. The program included Health Insurance; Accident Insurance (Workman’s Compensation); Disability Insurance; and an Old-age Retirement Pension, none of which were then currently in existence to any great degree.

Based on Bismarck’s message, The Reichstag filed three bills designed to deal with the concept of Accident insurance, and one for Health Insurance. The subjects of Retirement pensions and Disability Insurance were placed on the back burner for the time being.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE FOLOWING:
  • "One day the great European War will come out of some damned foolish thing in the Balkans.“
  • Anyone who has ever looked into the glazed eyes of a soldier dying on the battlefield will think hard before starting a war.
  • Laws are like sausages. It's better not to see them being made.
  • Politics is the art of the possible.
  • A government must not waiver once it has chosen it's course. It must not look to the left or right but go forward.
  • Never believe anything in politics until it has been officially denied.
  • Politics ruins the character.
  • People never lie so much as after a hunt, during a war or before an election.
  • When you want to fool the world, tell the truth.
  • Show me an objective worthy of war and I will go along with you.

Thank you.
