Щеголева городского округа ЗАТО Светлый Саратовской области» Сравниваем страдательный залог с активным (Презентация к уроку) Автор: Галушко Ирина Михайловна, учитель английского языка Passive Voice VS Active Voice In theEnglish language there are two ways of describing the same action. Compare the sentences and name the difference: My dad opened the window. The subject in the sentence is active The window was opened by my dad. The subject in the sentence is not active, it is passive So we have got a new structure called “Passive Voice" which is used in English very often Use of the Passive Voice Passive Voice is used when the focus is on the action. It is not important who or what is performing the action. Example: The vase was broken. The focus here is on the fact that the vase was broken. We do not know, however, who broke it. In those cases when it is important to say who did the action the preposition by is used : The poem was written by A. Pushkin. The clouds are moved by the sky. Form of the Passive Voice: be + Paticiple II Presnt Simple Passive am/ is/ are + V3 Past Simple Passive was/ were + V3 Present Perfect Passive
  • have/
  • has been + V3
Future Simple Passive will be + V3 Choose the right form of the verb 1. English (speak / is spoken) all over the world. 2. I (made / was made) the fruit salad myself. 3.
