Урок английского языка по теме: «Asking for/giving directions» (Как пройти/как указать путь)
Цели урока:
Учебные: развитие речевых компетенций, умений говорения, чтения с извлечением частичной и полной
информации.
Развивающие: развитие мышления, памяти, внимания.
Образовательные: формирование коммуникативной компетенции, расширение кругозора
Воспитательные: формирование мотивации к изучению английского языка.
Оборудование урока:
компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, экран, презентация «Asking for/giving directions»
ХОД УРОКА
I. Организационный момент
Teacher: Good morning, boys and girls. I’m very glad to see you.
Pupils: Good morning, teacher!
Вопросы учителя учащимся о готовности к работе:
Teacher: Are you ready for the lesson?
Pupils: Yes, we are! (Да!)
Teacher: Seat down, please!

II. Warm-up (Разминка). Повторение пройденного материала.
Teacher: Let’s start our lesson with Warm-up.
- First of all, I want you to answer my questions and write down your answers on the
blackboard.
- Write the words down in column.

Teacher: Where can you buy aspirin?
Pupil: In the BANK

- Look at the first slide of the presentation, please! It’s a map of a town. It isn’t finished.
- There are only three buildings marked: the school and the chemist’s.
- And, of course, you have to complete the map using our words.
- You will ask me and I’ll answer the questions.

Teacher: The BANK is next to the chemist’s on Park Road

IV. Основная часть.
Teacher: Our today’s class is devoted to getting about the town. As you all know, people travel a lot nowadays and
if you ever have a chance to visit a foreign country you should be able to ask the way to a place you want to go to.
On the other hand, lots of tourists from abroad come to Moscow, and it’d be wonderful if you could be helpful and
give the necessary directions. So let’s learn how to do so.
Teacher: - Let’s start with Asking for Directions Как спросить путь?
- In this lesson, we will study listening a little more so you can effectively understand a person giving you
directions.
- There are many direction words and expressions. Here are some key words you have to remember.

- Most of the time, you should start by saying “Excuse me”.
"Excuse me. Do you know where the … is?"
"Excuse me. Is there a … near here?"
"Excuse me. How can I get to the …?"
- Please, write down these questions. They will help you.

Teacher: When you ask for directions, the person responding will usually give you quick directions.
- Look at the next slide! It is a list of common phrases used when giving directions. You should study

TURN LEFT поверните налево
TURN RIGHT поверните направо
CROSS THE ROAD перейдите дорогу
TAKE THE FIRST ON THE LEFT - поверните на первом повороте налево
TAKE THE SECOND ON THE RIGHT - поверните на втором повороте направо
GO STRAIGHT ON идите прямо
GO UP/ GO DOWN THIS RTREET идите вверх/вниз по улице
Teacher: Please, copy these phrases in your exercise book and, of course, remember them!

- Let’s read the dialog between Ann and Tom.

Tom: Yes. Go down Park Street until you get to the
traffic lights. Turn right into East Street and go
straight on. Its on your left, next to the hotel.
Ann: Is it far?
Tom: Not really.
Ann: Thank you very much.
Tom: You are welcome.
Teacher: Where does Ann want to go to?
Pupils: Ann wants to go to the library.
- Look at the map of our town. You can see point X. Ann and Tom are at point X.
