Let’s start our work. We continue to study the unit The American experience. And
today we will know how to give advices and will learn the modal verb which helps
us to do it.

I will show you the cards with the sounds pronounce them and tell me the words
with them:

Look at the list of words you see the words in the first column and the translation

5.Let’s check your homework. You had to do ex. 8 and 9 p.57 . But first of all ,
let’s revise the Present Perfect tense. What action does it express? How do we
change the verb?

Let’s remember English modal verbs and their meaning. How many modal verbs
do you know? Yes there are four of them : must ,can,may and should. Must means
duty, can means opportunity, may means permission , and should means an advice
and it it for Russian следует. When we want to give an advice we use the modal
verb should. Ex. You should not eat much chocolate.
Now ,let’s train a little. Do ex. 11 page 58. Here you should listen and read.
Look at the red table. Let’s see the difference between two modal verbs ‘must’ and
‘should’ Who wants to read? Remember that we don’t use ‘to’ after modal verbs!
Now I want you to make exercise 12 .Please, choose one of these sentences and
write the best advice in the situation as you think. Do it in your copy books you
have a few minutes and then we will check it. Your time is up, let’s check.
Let’s do ex. 13 .Here there are situations and under them there is a box with
solutions of them. Please,think over and choose the variant which you like.
