Тема: Travelling to Britain. What is the best way to see the UK?
Цель: Совершенствование речевых навыков.
Задачи:
Учебная: Активизировать лексические навыки.
Развивающая: Развивать творческую инициативу учащихся, мышление,
память, логику, умение целостно оформлять высказывания.
Воспитательная: Научить учащихся сотрудничеству в группе; воспитывать
толерантные отношения к культуре страны изучаемого языка, расширять
кругозор школьников.
Тип урок: Комбинированный урок по видам речевой деятельности.
Оборудование: Картинки с достопримечательностями Лондона,
аудиозапись, магнитофон, компьютерная распечатка текста, конверты с
заданиями.
Ход урока.
1. Оргмомент.
Приветствие, сообщение темы, характера работы на данном уроке.
Good morning, children! Today we’ll go on an imaginary excursion to Britain.
We’ll speak about the reasons for traveling abroad, about the best way to see
Britain; we’ll get some information about the places of interests in London.
I think a lot of people all over the world are fond of traveling. Do you like
traveling? Modern life is impossible without travelling. Every day thousands of
people travel either on business or for pleasure.
2.Речевая разминка—мозговой шторм.
I give you sheets of paper. The task is: you should make up the Net Word “Why
travel to the UK?” You have 2 minutes .Read the word combinations.
3.Фонетическая зарядка.
Let’s train our tongues. Repeat after me.
[r] very, cross, right
[t] street, left, light tourists
[w] we, when
Look at the blackboard and listen to me attentively.
Be very, very careful,
When you crass the street.
Look to the left,
Look to the right,
Then look up and check the light.
We are tourists.
Read the poem. Who can recite this poem by heart?

4. Активизация лексических навыков.
I know you are fond of travelling but I don’t know what is the best way of
traveling for you. How can we travel? Do you prefer to travel by train or by plane?
Let’s work in small groups.
Prove that the most comfortable way of travelling is travelling by plane.
Prove that the most popular way of travelling is travelling by train.
Prove that the most interesting way of travelling is travelling by car.
Prove that the most useful way of travelling is travelling on foot.
I’ll give three minutes,be ready to prove your point of view.
5.Аудирование с целью общего понимания.
Well, guess what sight it is. If you are right, you’ll see this place at the blackboard.
1.It is a museum now, it was a prison, a fortress. It is the place where ravens live.

2. It is just a few minutes away from the Tower of London. It is London’s most
famous bridge (Tower Bridge)
3.It is a royal church.It is used for the coronations, royal weddings, funerals of
great statesmen and national figures of England. (Westminster Abbey).
4.It is the centre of London. It is the Square where statue of Admiral Nelson
stands (Trafalgar Square).
5.It is the London home of the Queen. The ceremony of the Changing of the Guard
at it is a great tourist attraction (Buckingham palace)
6.Физкультминутка.
I see you are tired. Let’s have a rest. Will you stand up, please

to London town?
Where? Where?
Up in the air,
Close your eyes—
And you are there!
7.Чтение с пониманием основного содержания прочитанного.
Now, you shall read the text about London. You’ll have 10 min, try to understand
and ask each other 3-5 questions. («Перекрёстный огонь» из вопросов по
тексту, одна команда задаёт, вторая отвечает и наоборот.)
London
London is the capital of Great Britain. It is a very old city. It is two thousand years
old. London is not only the capital of the country but also a huge (big) port.
London is situated upon both banks of the Thames. There are 17 bridges across
the river.
The population of London is about 9 million people.
London has three parts: the City of London, the West End and the East End.
The City of London is the oldest part of London. There are many offices, firms
and banks in this part of London. The West End is the centre of London. There are
many sights in the West End. There are, for example, the Houses of Parliament
with Big Ben. Big Ben is the biggest clock bell in Britain. It weighs 13.5 tons.
The other interesting place is Westminster Abbey, which was founded in 1050.
It is situated in the centre of London.
The official London residence of the Queen is Buckingham Palace. It was built
in the 18 century.
There are many nice squares in London. Trafalgar Square is one of them and it
is in the centre of the West End. One can see a statue of Lord Nelson in the middle
of this square.
There are many museums and galleries in London. The Tate Gallery is one of
the well-known galleries in London. The British Museum is a very interesting
place in London. It was founded in 1753.
Our tour has finished. I hope very much that you have enjoyed our tour of London.
