Тема «Inventions that shook the world . Computers .»

Цели:
учебный аспект – формирование лексических навыков по теме «Computers»,
совершенствование грамматических навыков употребления в речи структур
страдательного залога, совершенствование монологических и диалогических навыков
и умений в различных ситуациях;
развивающий аспект – развитие способности к догадке, к сравнению и
сопоставлению , совершенствование способности осуществлять продуктивные речевые
действия ;
познавательный аспект-знакомство с терминологией по данной теме, с
основателем Microsoft DOS , с молодёжной субкультурой, японским стихосложением;
воспитательный аспект – формирование чувства сопричастности к мировым
достижениям, совершенствование умений работать в группе.
Речевой материал: лексический и грамматический материал цикла.
Средства обучения: компьютер, мультимедийный проектор.
Аудитория: 11 класс
Ход урока:
1Вводная часть. Знакомство. Представление темы.
Good afternoon , boys and girls . Let me introduce myself . My name is Olga Viktorovna.
Today we are going to speak about actual and important things for you .Guess what we
are going to discuss today .Look at the screen and answer the question :
What follows books ? (Where else can you find information? What gadget/
machine do you use ? )
Who has a computer at home ?
I think you know the terms of computer system very well
2 Основная часть.
Задание 1-соотнести слова с предметами (презентация ЛЕ с помощью наглядности)
First we are going to label the picture .Read the words and do the task .
What is this ?..(monitor ,processor ,printer ,loudspeaker ,CD ,CD ROM keyboard, mouse,
floppy ,mouse pad ,modem )
Задание2-соотнести слова с дефинициями .
Next group of words also deals with computers. I want you to read and translate those
words which you already know . Now match the. words with the definitions .
Access - to find information on a computer
Crash – a breakdown of a computer system or program
Database –a lot of information kept in computer system
E-mail –a system that helps to send messages from one computer to another
Multimedia –the combination of sound , graphics and video to present information on a
computer
The Internet –an international network of computers
Virus –program which stops a computer from working normally
Site –a place on the Internet that gives you information about a product or some subject
World Wide Web (WWW) the system that keeps information for computer users around
the world
Задание3 –отгадать имя человека , изображенного на экране и сказать ,какое
изобретение ему принадлежит (Bill Gates – Microsoft DOS )
Can you name this man ?What did he do ?What do you know about him ?
You are given the most important years of his life .Place the years in the chronological
order .
Bill Gates
He started his business in 1975 .His company has become the largest company in the
world .He was born on the 28th of October in1955 in Seattle , the USA .His favorite
subjects were Math and Science .
At the age of 13 he got interested in computers. He finished school in 1973and went to
Howard .In 1980ates bought a small company. Microsoft developed such well-known
programs as Windows , Excel and Internet Explorer .In 1994he married Melinda French and
has two children: a daughter , born in1996 and a son , born in1999 .Now he is the richest
man in the world .

WE have touched the main terms of computer vocabulary . have learnt some facts about
a very famous man in a computer world and now let us discuss the role of computers in
our life .What are they used for ?Discuss in groups and present your point of view .

There is a subculture of people who are very addicted to computers. Name the subculture
.Choose characteristics of this group of people .
Computer addicts have the following symptoms .Translate them and decide if you are a
computer addict .
What advice can you give to a computer addict?( to limit time they spend in front of a
computer )
We are going to do some role play now .I want you to invent a dialogue as if you are
a mother , a son –computer addict, and a psychologist .Mother and a son explain their
problem symptoms and ask for advice. I am giving you role cards .

группы .
Those people who are addicted to computers spend much time in the Internet .There is
special Internet slang .So look through it ,make a short message for one group and
exchange them .
Задание 8 –чтение и перевод «компьютерных» стихотворений , пословиц ,
Now we are going to read a computer poem but it is unusual .Haiku is a type of
Japanese poem with three lines consisting of 5 ,7 syllables .Here is one translated into
Russian . Read and enjoy Computer Haiku .
First snow ,then silence .
This thousand-dollar screen dies .
So beautifully .

called Alphabet . Choose any letter and answer the question .
