Цель:
- углубление и расширение знаний учащихся о стране изучаемого языка
- развитие монологической речи учащихся с использованием новых знаний,
формирование лингво-культурной компетенции учащихся.
Задачи:

1) введение и семантизация новых лексических единиц по теме;
2) обучение поисковому чтению;
3) совершенствование навыков аудирования и устной речи;
4) контроль уровня сформированности навыков монологической формы

T: Right. The theme of our lesson is “The United States of America”. (Учитель

The plan of our work is also on the board. (Слайд 3)
Today we are going to speak about different features of this country. First
we’ll play a game, then I’ll check the homework (speaking on your projects) and
you will learn some more information about the USA. At the end of the lesson I’d
like you to watch a documentary film about this country. Any questions? No? All
right, class, let’s get down to work.
«Мозговой штурм» Групповая работа.
Цель игры – выяснить, сколько учащиеся уже знают о США.
Класс делится на три группы по четыре человека (ребят лучше заранее
рассадить по равному количеству человек на каждый ряд, но это не
принципиально). Каждой группе выдаётся лист бумаги (формат А4 или А3),
на котором заранее написаны
заголовки Cities, States, Natural features, Famous people, Recent events
(города, штаты, природные особенности, известные люди, отрасли
промышленности, недавние события). Учащимся необходимо вспомнить и
записать совместными усилиями известную им на данный момент
информацию о США под предложенными заголовками. Игра проводится
довольно быстро, за определённое время – 5минуты.
T: It’s a writing game. The purpose of this game is to discover how much you
know about the USA. Work in groups. Write down as much as you know under
each heading. I’ll give you 5 minutes.
Когда время истекло, их заполненные листы сравниваются следующим
образом: один ученик из каждой группы читает записи, учитель заносит их
на один большой лист (либо на доску) и определяет группу, показавшую
больше знаний.
T: Your time is finished; let’s compare your notes. How many cities (states, natural
features, famous people) have you written? Read, please. (P1 P2 P3) What do you
know about recent events and industries? I think, the students from (the second)
group know more about the US. Nevertheless, all of you have worked well. Thank
you. I hope at the end of the lesson you will be able to add some more information.

The Flag of The USA called stars and stripes. The stripes symbolize 13 colonies,
which in 1776 formed a separate state independent of England. The number of
stars on the flag indicates the number of states.
The population of the United States of America was over 330 million in 2018.
Head of the State is the President, who is elected every four years.
The United States is a democratic federal republic. The United States consists of
50 states. Each state has a capital, which is the center of the state government.
Alaska and Hawaii are not connected to the other states.
Washington DC (District of Columbia) is the capital of the country and the seat of
the government. It was named honour the fist President George Washington.
It is washed by the Pacific Ocean in the west and the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf
of Mexico in the east.
It is situated in the central part of the North American Continent
The USA borders on Canada in the north and on Mexico on the south.
The most important rivers in the USA are the Mississippi, the Colorado, the Ohio
and the Hudson River.
The main mountain chains are the Cordillera in the west and the Appalachian
Mountains in the east.
The climate of the country is varied. In the southern part it is subtropical while the
northern part has very cold weather in winter.
The people of America are a mixture of many different nationalities

VI. Итоги урока/The sum of the lesson: (Слайд 8)
Сегодня мы узнали больше о США.
Учащиеся кратко подводят итог того, что они нового узнали на уроке, и
какую информацию можно добавить в листы, которые они заполняли в
начале урока (см. п.3 разработки урока – «мозговой штурм»). Учитель
оценивает работу каждого ученика, комментировано выставляя отметки;
благодарит учащихся за работу и прощается с ними.
Домашнее задание выучить новую лексику,
А также по желанию подготовить различную информацию о США

the area of South America and introduced a new land to the world. This continent
