Конспект урока в 5 классе по теме «Король Артур и рыцари круглого
стола» (домашнее чтение).
Тема урока: «Король Артур и рыцари круглого стола»
Цель урока: обобщение информации, полученной после прочтения
первых трех глав произведения.
Задачи:

• формировать у учащихся умение осмысливать и анализировать
художественное произведение
• формировать умение высказывать свое мнение по данному
вопросу

Ход урока
I. Приветствие. Организационный момент.
- Hello. I am glad to see you.
- How are you today?
- What date is it today?
- Today we continue talking about “King Arthur and Knights of
the round table” (показ презентации №1)
II. Актуализация знаний, умений и навыков.
- As we could see from the video, Arthur was one of the greatest
kings in the world. But nobody knows if he was a real hero or not.
Your homework was to read and translate the third chapter of this
book. And today we will summarize all the events which take
place in the first chapters.
III Обобщение знаний, умений и навыков.
- At first, let’s learn some more information about the main hero,
Arthur. Let’s listen to Sergey.
The story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table is
very, very old. People know that there was a king in Britain
between the years 400 and 600. He fought the Saxons, from
countries in the north of Europe, and perhaps this king was
Arthur. He lived, perhaps, in Wales or in the west of England —
in Somerset or Cornwall. People wrote stories about this king
hundreds of years later, but they made the stories more
interesting and more exciting. At that time people were interested
in magic, knights and their ladies. So people fight with swords
and use magic in these stories.
- Thank you. As you can see this king was very popular with people.
Well, we have already read three chapters of this book and now
we can discuss the main events and the main characters of this
book.
- Look, please, at the screen (Презентация №2, слайд 2). Let’s
remember them.

- As you can see there are a lot of characters in this book. I would
like you to describe the most important ones: Arthur, Merlin,
Uthur. Tell some words about each of them.
Arthur was one of the greatest kings in England. He was brave
and strong. He was the son of Uther and Igraine. But one day
when he was three days old, Merlin took him and gave to one good
knight who brought him up. When he was 17 years old he proved
that he was great, because he was the only knight who managed
to pull the sword out of the stone.
Merlin was a great wizard. He knew a lot of magic. He could turn
into different animals and things. One day he helped Uther, the
king of England. But as a result the king had to give his son to
him. Merlin helped Arthur when he became a king. He took care
of him.
Uther was a king of England. He was a good man and he was king
in the south of Britain. Uther loved a beautiful woman, Igraine,
and he wanted to marry her. But she did not love him and he was
very sad about that. Merlin helped him. Then King Uther was
very ill and then he died.

-Thank you very much for your descriptions. Now let’s talk about
the events which take place in these chapters. We will start
listening to the tape and your task is to listen and after it to
continue a story.

Arthur became a young man and one day he went to the church
and he saw a stone with a sword. He pulled it out of the stone and
became the king in England. He collected the great men and the
best knights and they sat at the round table. There were 150
places. After that there were some adventures and Arthur got a
great sword, Excalibur.
- Thank you very much. Let’s move on further. I know that some of
you prepared to role the scene where Uther tells lgraine that he is
giving their three-day-old child, Arthur, to Merlin. Let’s watch it.
