The role of television in our life
Цель урока: систематизация и обобщение материала по теме: «The role of television in
our life», контроль усвоения изученной лексики.
Задачи:
Образовательные:
Развитие умений в монологической и диалогической речи,
Активизация изученных лексических единиц и речевых образцов,
Умение обобщать полученные знания.
Развивающие:
Способствовать развитию мышления, догадки учащихся,
Способствовать развитию умений спонтанного говорения,
Развитие творческих способностей учащихся,
Способствовать умению анализировать.
Воспитательные:
Способствовать повышению мотивации к изучению иностранного языка,
Способствовать воспитанию у учащихся внимательности,
Способствовать созданию условий для коммуникации и работы в команде.
Тип урока: урок закрепления пройденного материала

Ход урока
1.Организационный момент
Teacher: Good morning children! I am glad to see too, please sit down! I hope you are well
and ready to work.
(ответы детей, приветствие учителя).
2. Вводное слово, тема урока (Слайд №1, 2)
Teacher: Today we are going to go on speaking on the role of mass media in our life. No
doubt that TV plays a great role in the life of a modern man. It’s taken for granted that the
most important role belongs to television. As time goes on, we tend to view more and listen
less. Take for example meetings between famous people. We like seeing these people taking
part in these discussions, merely to hear their voices is not quite the same thing. When we
have time for leisure, we usually need something that can amuse or interest us. TV suggests
various programs: talk and game shows, news, sporting events, about animals and foreign
countries, all kinds of films and so on. (Слайд №3) It provides programs for all interests.
(Слайд №4) It makes us educated people. (Cлайд №5) But nevertheless, TV is bad for our
health and it might take too much time. (Слайд №6)
3. Речевая и фонетическая зарядка (Слайд №7)
После прослушивания учителя, учащиеся повторяют хором некоторые уже знакомые
им выражения:
to keep people well informed in current events at home and abroad
to watch programs on 3 channels
to excite somebody’s interest
to be bored and tired
to waste time
to be interested in
to be worth seeing
to make the viewers laugh
Затем учащиеся отвечают на вопросы учителя, используя эти выражения в своих
высказываниях.
T: Do you enjoy watching television? Can you tell that you are a TV fan? Do you think that
television has more fans than radio? Why? Which do you prefer- to go to the cinema or to
stay at home and watch TV? Which TV programs do you try not to miss? Which is your
favourite TV program? Would you like to watch TV from morning till night at your
weekends?
4. Развитие навыков устного высказывания по теме урока
Сначала ребята повторяют некоторые пословицы, имеющие некоторое отношение к
теме “Television”. Это происходит в виде игры. На столе разложены карточки с
пословицами. Ученик выходит к столу, подбрасывает кубик, у которого грани разных
цветов, затем берет карточку с соответствующим цветом, дает английский эквивалент
пословицы.
Пословицы представлены на интерактивной доске в качестве опоры (Слайд №8) :
Business before pleasure. Enough is as good as a feast. Art is long, life is short. Lost time is
never found again. An idle brain is the devil’s workshop. A wonder lasts but nine days.
Deeds not words. He who pleased everybody died before he was born.
После повторения пословиц, учитель дает задание: Will you express your opinion on the
following points of view? Don’t forget to use proverbs and words. Use the conversational
formulas.
На задание “Express your opinion” выносятся следующие утверждения:
1. Too much television is bad for children.
2. Television makes people passive during their leisure time.
3. Listening to the radio and reading the press is more enjoyable than watching TV.
4. There is too much violence on TV.
5. Radio and TV must be used only as a mean of entertainment.
6. Television is killing the theatre and the cinema.
Учитель спрашивает учащихся: How do you think, what is TV nowadays? (Cлайд №9)
5. Развитие навыков диалогической речи
Учитель дает задание учащимся: Now you will make up the dialogues and discuss the role
of mass media in our life, television in particular. Ask your friend what he thinks about
different TV programs. (Слайд №10) In your dialogues you should express your opinion
about the advantages and disadvantages of television nowadays using these expressions
(слайд №11):
I'm exactly of the same opinion.
I can't help thinking the same.
As a matter of fact, I don't agree.
I'm not sure, in fact. .
I'm not at all convinced.
I'm afraid I entirely disagree with ...
That's not my way of looking at it.
I agree with you up to a point/ in a sense/ in a way, but ...
I see what you mean, but ...
There's some truth in what you say. However, ...
From my point of view / viewpoint...
(Personally,) I feel ...
As far as I'm concerned, ...
In my view/opinion ..
To my way of thinking, ...
6. Подведение итогов урока и оценивание результатов работы учащихся
7.Домашнее задание:
Написать сочинение на тему “The role of television in our life”.
