Конспект урока для 2 класса “ Christmas is coming”
Цели урока:
-повторить и активизировать лексический материал по темам « Праздники »,
« Цвета»;
- формировать навыки устной речи;
- тренировать в употреблении ЛЕ по теме урока на уровне предложения;
-практиковать учащихся в правописании выученных слов;
-усовершенствовать навыки чтения;
-развивать фонетический слух, речевую догадку, память и воображение детей;
-воспитывать у учащихся чувство прекрасного, интерес и уважение к культуре,
традициям и обычаям страны изучаемого языка .
Тип урока : урок обобщения и систематизации знаний.
Оборудование урока: раздаточный материал , картинки на зимнюю тематику,
поздравительные открытки, песни Merry Christmas’’ , The Dancing Christmas tree
song”, “Jingle Bells” , подарки.
LESSON PROCEDURE
І. The beginning of the lesson
1 .Greetings
T. Good morning , dear children!
I am glad to see you.
Ps. Good morning , teacher. We are glad to see you too!
T. Smile to me, smile to each other, smile to our guests.
Sit down, please.
Let’s start our English lesson.
2. Aim
T. You should guess what we are going to speak about. Here’s a hint for you. Listen to the
song, please. (The song “Jingle Bells” is played.)
Do you know this song? This is “Jingle Bells”, the traditional Christmas song. Let’s sing it

T. So, what are we going to speak about in the lesson?

3. Introduction
T. Today we are going to celebrate Christmas. Santa Claus came to us today. He is
from Great Britain. The 25th of December is Christmas Day. It’s a happy holiday. English
people send greeting cards to all their relatives and friends. People decorate a Christmas
tree with toys, coloured balls and coloured lights. When children go to bed, they put their
stockings near their beds. Santa Claus puts the presents into the children’s stockings. And
today Santa has prepared the presents for you.
II. The main part of the lesson
1. Phonetic drills
T. Let’s remember some sounds. I name the sound and say the words. If you hear the
sound you clap your hands and repeat the words.

2. Vocabulary Practice. Game “ The Interprenter”
T. Santa Claus wants to hear what words we know . I’ll say the words in Russian and
you must translate them in English.
3. Check on homework
T. Children have we done your homework?
Do you like to send greeting cards? At home you made them. Read your congratulations.
T. Let’s give them to Santa Claus.
3. Game “Christmas tree
Т.Let’s play a game.
Children, guess what I have in this magic box?
Ch. Christmas decorations.
T. Yes, you are right.
We have to decorate the Christmas tree. You take Christmas ball from the magic box
and name its colour . Then decorate the Christmas tree. ( Дети украшают ёлочку.) And
now let’s describe our Christmas tree. It is so beautiful!

4. Writing
T. Children! Look at the blackboard, please. You can see some words there. But some
letters are missing. Write down them.

5. Physical Activity ( “The Dancing Christmas tree song”)

8. Work in groups
T. Let us play a little game and see who is the most attentive in our teams and has the best
memory. For each team І put on a tray 10 objects the names of which you know in
English. In a minute I’ll take the tray away and you must remember all the things you’ve
seen. Go! Have a look at them, and be ready to call them out. (Bell, stocking, star,
Christmas ball, snowman, clown, picture, Christmas Card, Teddy Bear, present.)

III. The end of the lesson
1. Summarizing
T. Dear children! You were very active and work very good that’s why Santa Claus has
prepared some presents for you! Do you like to get presents? I think everybody does. Look
this is a big stocking for you! The stocking is with presents! Everyone gets sweet prize
for active work (sweets).
And now let’s sing a song for Santa Claus and congratulate each other with happy holiday
Christmas! (Дети поют песню “We wish you a Merry Christmas!”)
