-Good morning, dear boys and girls!

- I am glad to see you! Today we have special lesson, you can see many guests in
class. Please greet them!

-Sit down, please.
Today we are going to continue speaking on our topic WHAT IS OUR TOPIC?
Dasha: Problems of the Earth”.
Teacher: Yes, you are right. Our lesson today is dedicated to a big conference, that
we are going to have next week. As you know, our school has been celebrating the
festival “Week of the Earth” for many years. I want to start our lesson with one
poem, written by one of our pupils. Sergej, read please this poem.
So, what do you think about it?
Alex: When I read this poem, I feel lonely and sad. It is very bad, when people kill
animals.
Ivan: I think this poem is about extincted animals.
Vadim: It is about sea cow and Dront bird.
Teacher: Good. Thank you. Is this poem connected with our topic?
Class: Yes!
Teacher: Let’s remember all our textes and exercises and build a mindmap. What
shall we put in the middle of it?
Dasha: global problem, environmental problems. Идет к доске и пишет на Smart

Sergey: What about natural disasters?
Nastja: I don’t agree.
Sergey: Why?
Nastya: I think that natural disasters are reasons, why we have different
environmental problems.
Teacher: I agree with you. So, our mindmap is finished. Great! And what else
would you like to know about environmental problems? What do you think we are
going to speak about? Let us guess the topic of our lesson.
Stepan: I think, we must find ways of savind the planet.
Teacher: Great. I like your idea and you have guessed our topic Endangered
means there is still time! What does it mean? Who can explain?
Sergey: It means that we have opportunity to save our planet.
Teacher: Thank you. Here I have 3 texts! I Will divide you into 3 groups.

T: After you have read a text you need to find a name for your group, make and
draw projects according to your texts. And then you must present your projects.
Work in groups. You have 10 minutes. On my desk there are different pictures and
things that you can use.

read, wrote and made very nice projects and you have good results. In the end of
our lesson I want to show you a video to a song of Michael Jackson. Your
homework is to watch this video to the end and make a mindmap.

ASTRONAUTS
Have you ever seen a picture of Earth
from outer space? Isnt it beautiful? That
is our home that we share with our
neighbours, millions of species of
animals. From outer space you cant see
any borders- all living things share a
single system of air, water and soil.
We are the third planet in a solar system
containing nine planets. We circle a
medium-sized star that we call the sun.
Our sun is located in the arm of a spiral-
shaped galaxy known as The Milky
Way“.
So we can say the The Earth is like a
giant spaceship flying through space with
billion passangers on board. So it is very
important for us to save and protect our
spaceship and our home!
Green Teens
We live in a wonderful world. For many
years, however, we have taken out and
used air, sea and land resources as if they
would never end. We have to stop now
and think about it.
As one philosopher said, the care of
rivers is not a question of rivers but of
human hearts.
There have been greater change in our
biosphere in the last 50 years than in the
2 million years before.
Deforestation, desertification, erosion,
destruction of natural resources,
extinction of animals, destruction of
coral reefs these are examples of our
modern life. Environmental problems are
our legacy. We must change our
behaviour immediately. We, group of
young scientists, are sure that we must
show young generations the importance
of saving and protecting our planet. To
do this we must first become informed,
because knowledge is the road to change.
We believe that our planet is in great
danger. But we are sure that we have still
time to change things.
Scientists
We tried to look into the future and
imagine, how will our world look if we
do not stop killing our Environment.
Can you imagine yourself sitting on a
huge mountain of garbage, not being able
to breathe? Sea and rivers have
disappeared. You need fresh air, but will
get the dusty one. Yes, it’s a perfect
picture of our Earth after 50 years. Our
lifestyle and our ignorance toward
Mother Earth could make this happen.
Tell me how would you feel then?
Don’t you love the planet you are living
on? People are just concentrating on the
economy while ignoring the
environment. This is the very reason for
global warming and climate change.
So think of it what it would be like on
our Earth, after 50 years? The slowing
economy and ignoring the environment is
not only affecting us, but also future
generations. As they say “Climate
change is for real. We have just a small
window of opportunity and it is closing
rather rapidly. There is not a moment to
lose”.
