Fadeyev - Gold medal “To Fighter for Peace”. - Order of “Big Gold Star of Peoples’ Friendship” (the German Democratic Republic) - Order of Sukhe-Bator (Mongolia) - Order of Georghiy Dimitrov (Bulgaria) - Order of “Kirill and Mefodiy” of the first degree (Bulgaria).

Nobel Price

Mikhail Sholokhov is one of six Russian writers who was awarded the Nobel Price in Literature "for the artistic power and integrity with which, in his epic of the Don, he has given expression to a historic phase in the life of the Russian people” in 1965.

Sholokhov`s Contribution to the Simple People`s Life

• the construction of the water supply system in  Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya;
• the building of the 160 km asphalt road from Millerovo to Vyoshenskaya;
• the construction of meat processing
plant in Kashary;
• the personal help to the Stanitsa dwellers.

The Estate of M.A. Sholokhov

• In 1987 the wife of Mikhail Sholokhov Maria Petrovna presented the house, where the writer lived and worked since 1949 till 1984, to the state.

All the furniture in the house remained the same as in was when the writer lived here.
