SIGHTS OF GREAT BRITAIN
  • London is the biggest city in Europe. Over 7 million people live in it. It is one of the most famous and interesting cities in the world. There are lots of places to visit: different museums, children`s theatres an IMAX cinema. London has got places just for fun too: the London Eye, the London Zoo and many lovely parks and squares.

I would like to tell you about the London Eye. It`s a giant wheel about 135 metres high and has got 32 comfortable capsules for people to stand in.

When people get to the top, they have a bird`s-eye view of London. The next amazing place is Greenwich. The home of «Prime Meridian», the imaginary line that divides the world into east and west.

Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guard

The Tower of London. Now it is a museum but many years ago it was a fortress, а palace and even a prison. Here you can see the Crown Jewels and black ravens.

Special guards, beefeaters, look after the Tower and take care of the black ravens that live there. There is an ancient legend that the Tower and Great Britain will fall if the ravens ever leave the fortress.
