“Peer Pressure”
Цель: Развитие коммуникативной компетенции учащихся в процессе
продуктивной творческой деятельности.
Задачи:
• Развивающие
1) развивать языковые, интеллектуальные, познавательные способности;
2) развивать умения и навыки учащихся аргументировано выражать личное
отношение к проблеме, предлагая собственные пути ее решения;
• Воспитательные
1) формировать потребности в коллективной работе;
формировать правовую культуру личности; формировать критическое
отношение к действительности, умение анализировать и давать оценку
поступкам и событиям.
Форма проведения: видео-урок с элементами интерактивной беседы;
Оборудование: Видеоматериал, раздаточный материал, компьютер,
проектор, мультимедийная презентация, доска.

Ход мероприятия
1. Организационный момент, приветствие
Youth is a very important period in the life of a man. This is the time when a
person discovers the world and tries to determine the place in the universe.
Teenagers face real problems on a daily basis during this most awkward
growth stages of their lives; between 13 and 19-years-old. During this time, teens
are exposed to some overwhelming external and internal struggles. Teens go
through, and are expected to cope with hormonal changes, puberty, social and
parental forces, work and school pressures, as well as encountering many
conditions and problems. Teens feel overwhelmed when faced with unprecedented
stresses concerning school and college, and career confusion situations. Today we
are going to talk about the most common problems teenagers face nowadays. Our
lesson is going to be in the form of video lesson with the discussion elements
(слайд 1).
2. Речевая зарядка
Let’s start with the warming-up and answer some questions.
What problems do the teenagers have in everyday’s life? Everybody of you is a
teenager. So, What problems do you have in your daily life? What problems do
you consider the most topical?
P1-My parents don’t understand me.
P2- I can’t along with my sister.
P3-No one listens to me.
P4- I am too shy.
P5- I’ve got bad marks at school.
P6- I need pocket money.
P7- I’d like to be more independent.
P8- I have too much homework.
3. Развитие навыков монологической речи
Let’s think about problems teenagers have to cope with and try to single out the
most urgent issues of modern teenagers (слайд2). Let’s do it together in the
form of brain-storming. On the table you can see a scheme. Your task is to
think over the problems teens face today and write down the teenage problems:

• It’s high time to watch the first video about teenage problems. You’ll see
report on teenage problems. Try to single out the problems mentioned in the
video (Прил. 1).
• And now we pass to the next video (Прил.2). You’ll see teenagers speaking
of their problems. You’re to state the problem of each speaker. I’ll make
pauses after each speaker (слайд 3).
• Now let’s speak about such serious problem as peer pressure (слайд 4).
Let’s pass on to the next video and answer the questions (Прил. 3). On your
tables you’ve got the sheets of paper with the questions (Прил.4).

Good!Well done! Our next video is devoted to the problem Eating Disorders
(Прил.5). We’re going to watch the video about a girl who suffered from anorexia,
but who managed to overcome the problem. There is also some advice how to
prevent this illness. You should write down the pieces of advice given in the video
(Прил.6).
Now let’s check your answers (слайд 6).
We pass to the next problem – the problem of self esteem. Let’s determine your
level of self-esteem. We’ll have a test the results of which will show your level
(Прил.7).
5. Подведение итогов.
Well, you have listened to some of the American teenagers’ opinions on the
problem under discussion. Let’s summarize all the problems that teenager face
today.

The scale ranges from 0-30. Scores between 15 and 25 are within normal range;
scores below 15 suggest low self-esteem.
