Сценарий проведения внеклассного мероприятия по английскому языку
в 6 классе «Intellectual marathon»
Цели игры: развивать неподготовленную речь учащихся, креативные
способности учащихся, воспитывать интерес к изучению предмета, обобщить
страноведческие знания учащихся, полученные на уроках английского языка.
Задачи:
1) закрепить знания учащихся по изученным темам («Животные»,
«Числительные», «Магазин», «СК Великобритании и Северной
Ирландии» и др.) в ходе творческой, самостоятельной,
индивидуальной и групповой работы с дидактическими
материалами и расширить общий кругозор;
2) развивать умение работать в коллективе и принимать совместное
решение; положительные личностные качества (ответственность,
доброжелательность, чувство взаимопомощи), тренировать внимание,
память, мышление;
3) воспитывать уважение к культуре своей страны и стран изучаемого
языка.
Оборудование: на доске название игры «Интеллектуальный марафон»,
флаги англоязычных стран, карта СК Великобритании и Северной
Ирландии, правила игры, квадрат с цифрам, перечень конкурсов,
презентация, раздаточные карточки, карточки с названиями команд, грамоты.
Ход занятия
I. Оргмомент. Приветствие ведущего.
- Good afternoon, children and our guests! I’m very glad to see you here. Today
we have an unusual lesson. It is a game-lesson, which is called “Intellectual
marathon”. You’ll get different tasks and for each right answer you’ll get points.
At the end of our lesson, the most active pupils will get excellent marks. So let’s
start our game. Two teams will take part in a game of the most quick-witted and
the cleverest.
II. Представление команд.
- It’s time to introduce yourselves. Who is the captain of the 1
st
team?
P1: I’m the captain of the team. The name of our team is “Erudites”. Our motto is
“Enjoy English!”
- Who is the captain of the 2
nd
team?
P2: I’m the captain of the team. The name of our team is “Optimists”. Our motto is
“Learn English!”.
(Состав команд, их названия и девиз определяются заранее).
- Today all of you have a good chance to improve your English during the game. I
haven’t invited a competent jury to count the points, because we can count the
points on our own. On every right answer I’ll give you one circle and in the end of
our game we will count circles in each team.
Now I’m going to teach you how to play this game. The game has 6 contests, they
are:
1. Phonetic contest.
2. A magic 5.
3. Grammar contest.
4. Find the mistakes.
5. The right choice
6. Captains’ competition.
Well, I wish you success. Be active, honest and helpful! Remember 5 steps to
success:
a) Order.
b) Reserve.
c) Industry.
d) Cleanliness.
e) Justice.
III. Конкурсная программа.
1 contest
- And now we come to the 1
st
contest of the game called “Phonetic contest”. Kids,
the following task is for the all of you. You should read the tongue-twister as
quickly as you can 3 times. You can get 2 points for the right pronunciation. Ok,
now listen to me and the repeat after me.
o I scream, you scream.
We all scream for ice-cream.
o A girl sees three big grey geese.
Sid sees six geese.
2 contest
- And now we come to the 2
nd
contest which is called “A magic 5”. Look at the
screen, each team will take turns in answering questions. You’ll choose any
number. “ …”, it’s your turn to start. Captains will have an opportunity to choose
the number.
You can get 1 points for the right answer.

3 contest
- The 3
rd
contest is called “Grammar contest”. Your task is to fill in the gaps with
am, is, are. In every right answer you will get 1 point.

3. He … very strong.
4. My sister … busy.
5. I have a cat. It … fat.
6. Trees … green in spring.
- Our next contest is called “Find the mistakes”. You must find the mistake in each
sentence. But it’s a contest for speed. Which participant of team raise hand that
pupil can answer.
1. Ann and Mike is friends.
2. My hobby has reading.
3. We English are.
4. I not am stupid.
- Attention, please! The 5
th
contest is called “The right choice”. It’s very important
to make the right choice in our life: the right choice of a color, a hobby, a friend
etc. Each team should answer my questions. In each right answer you’ll get 1
point. You’ll get the cards with the letters a, b, c. Choose the right answer and
show us the card.
1. The capital of England is a) London b) Paris c) Moscow.
2. London stands a) the Volga b) the Mississippi c) the Thames.
3. The symbol of England is a) a red rose b) a tulip c) a daffodil.
4. The English flag is a) blue and white b) red and green c) red and white.
5. Ch. Chaplin was a) an artist b) a composer c) an actor.
6. “Robinson Crusoe” was written by a) Lewis Carroll b) Daniel Defoe c)
Alan Milne.
7. The traditional Christmas meal in England is a) roast turkey b) fish and
chips c) porridge.
The last contest is Captains’ competition. In this contest captains must complete
the sentence using the Russian words.

IV. Заключительный этап. Подведение итогов игры.
- Introduce your team please. And now we’ll count your circles. The

in smb’s favour. The team “…” is the winner. Applause.
(Победителям игры ставятся в журнал отличные оценки).
- Children, please, evaluate yourself. Show me your smiles.
- Dear friends, Do you like our competition? I hope you all enjoyed
yourselves. What do you like best of all? Thank you for your work. The
party is over.
- I’d like to tell you that the English language is very useful. The English
language is very important. Try to get only excellent marks in English.
