Урок «My future career»
Данный урок является заключительным по теме и представляет собой урок-
дискуссию с элементами ролевой игры.
Цель урока: обобщение и систематизация умений и навыков на основе
монологических и диалогических высказываний по теме.
Задачи урока: закрепить лексический материал по теме, совершенствовать
навыки практического владения английским языком.
Воспитательный аспект: воспитание толерантного отношения учащихся друг к
другу, способности к сотрудничеству и умению общаться.
Развивающий аспект: развитие самостоятельности, творческих способностей,
воображения, мышления, направленного на выбор оптимального решения,
умения высказывать свою точку зрения, личное отношение к поставленной
проблеме; умения аргументировать свое высказывание.
Ход урока:
1. Вступление.
It’s high time you spoke about your future. All of you are going to leave school this
year. You must be thinking hard about your plans, what job to choose. Am I right?
How do you feel?
Примерные ответы учащихся: - Nervous/ depressed/ worried/ happy/ excited…..
On the one hand, you’re lucky because there’re so many changes in the world market.
There is a tendacy of appearing new jobs and technologies. On the other hand, it’s
becoming more complicated to make the right choice.
a) What jobs do you find very dangerous?
b) What jobs requires being fit?
c) What jobs doesn’t require being fit?
d) What jobs are considered to be well-paid?
e) What jobs are worst- paid?
f) What job did you want to do when you were much younger? Why? What
attracted you in the job?
g) What job would you not like to do? Why?
h) What job area could you be good at?
i) What personal features would you like to have or develop? Which of them do you
consider improving?
( I wish I were more hard-working/ I wish I were less shy……
I’d like to be more/ less …)
2. Work in groups. There are some good sayings about your future. Do you agree?
Give your reasons.
a) There is only one person who is responsible for your future- you.
b) The biggest mistake you can make is to think that you study for someone else.
3. Now listen to a song and fill in the missing words .

4. Today taking an interview or being interviewed is becoming a common thing. It
can happen while applying for a job. Can you give a good piece of advice to a
person who is going to be interviewed?
(You should put on formal clothes.
You should find out information about the company.
You should turn up at the interview in time.
You shouldn’t make out information about yourself.
You should speak up and express yourself clearly.
You shouldn’t go into detail about your personal life. )
5. Put the dialogue in the correct order and act it out.
a) I want to be a shop manager when I leave school so I need to get some
experience now.
b) Yes, what’s the pay?
c) Why do you think you will like it? Have you ever worked in a shop?
d) No, I haven’t- but I like shopping so I think I will be good at it.
e) I’ll tell you about the pay if I offer you the job. I’ll tell you my decision
later in the week. Can I ring you at home?
f) Good morning. Please take a seat.
g) Yes, of course. My number is on my CV.
h) I’ll read it later. Why do you want to work here at City Shoe Store?
i) That doesn’t mean you’ll like working in a shop! Now, do you have any
questions for me?
j) Thank you. Here’s my CV.
6. Work in pairs. Imagine you are going to be interviewed for a holiday job. Act out
a dialogue.
( Раздать карточки учащимся- working in a shop, DJ, sports instructor, fruit
picker, a tourist guide)
7. Scavenger Hunt.
a) What personal qualities are important to get a good job? Possible answers:
mobility, motivation, cooperation, responsibility, flexibility…
b) What sort of people are in great demand? ( Sociable, active, creative…..)
Now you can show how cooperative and active you are. Your task is by asking
questions to find as many people as you can who do the following things. And in
five minutes we’ll see who the winner is.
