Урок «У страха глаза велики»

Цели:

- закрепление грамматических навыков по теме Past Continuous;

- развитие навыков аудирования

ХОД УРОКА

I Организационный момент

- We shall start with the Past Continuous Tense. After you will read an interesting space

story.

II Фонетическая разминка

- You will use some words from ex.54 on page 18. So need to know how to pronounce

them correctly. Listen and repeat.

- Try yourselves.

P1-P2

III Речевая разминка

- When do we use Past Continuous? Say what you were doing too. (Pupils make up their

own sentences).

IV Совершенствование грамматических навыков

- Now open ex.52 on page 17. Look at the picture for two minutes. Close your books.

Answer the questions.

(Possible answers: The father was reading a newspaper. The children were playing

chess. There were two sweets on the tray.)

На роль учителя, задающего вопросы можно выбрать учащегося. Он может реагировать на

ответы репликами: Yes, you are right. I am afraid you are wrong. Etc.

VI Развитие навыков чтения

- Now we are going to read an interesting story. Open ex.55 on page 18. What is the title of

the text? Look at the picture and the title of the text and try to guess if it is a frightening

or a funny story.

- Read the text till the task “b”. Answer the questions.

- Work in pairs and answer the questions from ex.56 on page 19. Prove your answers with

the help of the examples from the text. Do you like the story? Why?

VII Подведение итогов урока

- Was it interesting to read the story? When do we use Past Continuous? Can you give

some examples?
