I. Организационный момент. Сообщение учащимся целей и задач урока.
Teacher: Today we have our conclusion lesson on the topic “Ecology”. We shall
discuss many important problems connected with our topic. We shall exchange our
opinions about these global problems:
How to protect our Earth
How to prevent further pollution of the atmosphere
What urgent and necessary measures to undertake
Let’s listen to the poem by Lorraine Bays
Pupil:
What have they done to the seas, my friend?
What have they done to the seas?
What have they done to the rivers, my friend?
What have they done to the trees?
What have they done to our land, my friend?
This land which is ours from our birth?
What have they done to our forests, my friend?
What have they done to the Earth?

II. Организация обмена мнений в форме монологических высказываний по
фотографиям с использованием изученной лексики по теме.
Teacher: As you see, the problem of pollution is very important for everybody. Let’s
look at these photos taken by our pupils. As the problem is global I want you to discuss
it. Please, be active in the discussion. Who wants to be first?
Pupils: (prospective answers)
Pupil 1: These photos impressed me greatly. I am upset because I see many polluted
parts of my village.
Pupil 2: I would like to add something. Through the village flows a wide clear river.
It’s name is Sheshma. It was lovely for swimming and fishing. But now the river is polluted.
Fish die in the rivers and beautiful lakes. As a result half of the water sources is polluted with
communal and industrial waste.
P 3: Yes, you are right. Not only fish, forests, trees die too.
P 4: In my opinion, cars and trucks add their bad breath into the air.
P 5: Two big industrial plants Nizhnekamskneftechim and Nizhnekamskshina course
much pollution. They dump chemicals into the air and acid rain falls and harms our lakes,
fields, rivers and all the creatures.
P 6: It seems to me that noise is a special kind of environmental pollution. Every day,
especially people in the towns and cities hear the noise of buses, cars, trolley- buses and trams.
And people breath the air polluted by the means of transport.
P 7: if you look around, you will see much trash in the streets of our villages and towns.
Everybody should look at what they throw away and try to throw away less trash.
Teacher: Look at this photo. You can see many plastic and glass bottles in the streets of
our village.
-What is approximate decomposition time of the plastic / glass bottles.?
-Look here. Do birds die in cold winters? Why?

Teacher: Read the text and say what extra information have you caught from it.
The problem of pollution is growing in the 21 century. Factories, cars, trucks add
their bad breath into the air.
There are many coal burning factories around the world. They dump chemicals
into the air. Sometimes acid rain falls and harms lakes, rivers, plants. Many lakes, rivers, seas
are polluted, because companies dump chemical wastes into the water.
Farmers in different countries spray chemicals on crops to protect them against
pests. These chemicals are called pesticides. Scientists have found that pesticides often end up
in our food. Pesticides can course health problems, especially for kids.
Sometimes we can see much trash in the streets of our villages and towns.
Everyone should try to throw less trash and try to recycle paper and cans.
The scientists try to solve the problem of pollution. We should help them in it. We
should clean rivers and lakes, plant trees, study nature and the effects of pollution. We should
recycle paper and cans.

The waste gets into the water, air and of course this effects the health of
people
The Earth is our home and we must take care of it
People know about Chernobyl tragedy in 1986 when 18% of the territory was
polluted with radioactive substances.
We know about the ecological situation of our planet.

plants from the city, create green zones, protect the greenery, invent pollution control systems,
work out clean air programs, begin the clean air campaign, modify factories and plants)

solar beam”. Olga Abysova was awarded with a prize on photo exhibition in Kazan last year.
