УРОКА ПО ТЕМЕ WEATHER в 8 классе
Цель урока: развитие языковой компетенции учащихся по теме: “Weather”.
Задачи:
активизировать лексику темы в речи обучающихся;
формировать системное представление учащихся о погодных условиях;
развивать навыки восприятия речи на слух;
развивать навыки монологической речи;
развивать языковую догадку, а так же память, внимание, смекалку;
повышать интерес к изучению иностранного языка.
Оборудование:
УМК «Spotlight» Ю.Е. Ваулина, 8 класс.
Презентация по теме «Weather».
Проектор, компьютер, доска, карточки.
Ход урока.
1. Greeting.
Good morning, pupils. Nice to see you. I think that you are fine and ready for a successful work at
the lesson. Today we are having an unusual lesson. Be attentive please. To start with let’s watch a

2. The aim of the lesson. Постановка цели урока.
T. Guess the theme of our lesson. What are we going to talk about?
S. We are going to talk about Weather.
T. Yes, you are right. We are reading and speaking about Weather at the lesson. No matter how
much we say that nature does not have bad weather, weather is still a very important component
of our life. The mood and well-being of people and all living things depends on the weather. The
lack of sun quickly affects our appearance and health, and as a result, our mood. However, if you
properly organize your daily life and rest, you can perfectly combine good sunny weather with
cold and rainy days in such a way that they bring only positive emotions.

T. Your task is to have a good pronunciation of the phrases related to the topic.

Now look at the screen. Your task is to guess the missing word and fill in the gap. Let’s work in
chain. Fill in the gap and read the whole sentence.
6. Reading for specific information. Поисковое чтение. /Слайд 5/.
T. Scan the text. Find in the text and answer my question:
What methods do you think people in the past used to predict the weather?
7. Speaking. Активизация навыков монологической речи. /Слайд 6/.
a) Comparing pictures
To compare two pictures, follow the plan:
1 Briefly describe both pictures in turn (what is happening, where etc).
Then say:
2 what is similar in the pictures (at least two things);
3 what is different (at least two differences);
4 which picture (situation, object depicted) you would prefer/choose and the reason for your
choice.
8. Writing. /Слайд 7/.
Your task is to make a card describing weather in certain place. 5 sentences about the weather
conditions which you can find in the picture. Use key words and information given on the screen.
In 6 min/you will present to us.
9. Summing up. Подведение итогов. Выставление оценок.
T. So, the weather is quite important for humans. It not only influences our feelings but also
affects the way we behave. You have coped with all the tasks. And I think that you have become
experienced specialists and can go make weather forecast.
