1. повторить знакомые лексические единицы из раздела 5;
2. формирование и развитие коммуникативных умений в основных видах
речевой деятельности;
3. развитие умений ориентироваться в письменном и аудиотексте на
иностранном языке;
4. формирование и развитие языковых навыков;
Развивающие:
1. развивать лексико – грамматические навыки;
2. развивать умения прогнозирования содержания монологического
высказывания по наводящему вопросу, умения актуализации
полученных знаний;
Воспитательные:
воспитывать познавательный интерес, любовь к иностранному языку, как
способу расширения кругозора и общения с людьми из других стран.

How are you today? What date is it today? – What is the weather like today? Who is

Friends, today we are going to work on the topic “Natural Disasters”, read texts
connected with some natural disasters, such as tornado and hail, listen to some
information. So, are you ready? Let’s get started!(2 мин)

Look at the slide. Do you know what natural disaster is shown ?
What are your feelings? Describe them. (It’s horrible, awful, fearful, tragical,
terrible, frightful, monstrous etc. ) Here are the words, which you’ve already learned.
Let’s repeat them.
1. Drought
2. Flood
3. Tornado
4. Tsunami
5. Earthquake
6. Cyclone
7. Avalanche

Match the words with their definitions (Using the slide)
Drought
A large mass of snow falling down the side of a mountain
Flood
A violent tropical storm in which the air goes round and round
Tornado
An extremely violent wind or storm
Tsunami
A period of time with no rain
Earthquake
A violent wind storm which consists of a tall column of air spinning
around very fast
Cyclone
A shaking of the ground
Avalanche
A large amount of water that covers an area which is usually dry
Hurricane
A huge wave caused by an earthquake which flows onto land

Now choose the most serious disaster to you and describe it. Other students should
guess it.
