Урок английского языка в 5 классе.
Тема: “The sights of the USA.”
УМК : Английский язык:5 класс под редакцией М.В. Вербицкой -М.: Вентана-Граф .
Тип урока : Комбинированный урок обобщения и закрепления изученного материала по теме
«США».
Цель урока :
- Образовательная : активизировать умения и навыки монологической речи по теме
«США»,сформированные на предыдущих уроках.
-Развивающая : развивать умение самостоятельно искать, анализировать и отбирать необходимую
информацию.
-Воспитательная : формировать положительную мотивацию учения ,готовность воспринимать
историю и культуру другой страны.
Дидактическая задача : Реализовать системно- деятельностный подход через создание условий для
формирования у обучающихся комплекса УУД (личностных, познавательных ,коммуникативных
,регулятивных ) как основы учебного сотрудничества и умения учиться в общении.
Методы обучения : беседа, мультимедийная презентация , групповая работа с текстом .
Формы обучения : фронтальная ,групповая, индивидуальная работа.
Оснащение урока : компьютер ,экран, проектор, мультимедийная презентация «What do you know
about the USA?» ,аудиозапись песни о США, дидактический материал по чтению, раздаточный
материал.
Планируемые результаты:
-личностные : - формирование мотивации изучения английского языка;
- осознание возможностей самореализации средствами иностранного языка;
- готовность воспринимать историю и культуру другой страны.
- метапредметные : - формирование и развитие умения планировать свое речевое и неречевое
поведение;
- развитие коммуникативной компетенции ,в т.ч. умения взаимодействовать с
одноклассниками и учителем;
- развитие навыков работы с информацией (поиск и выделение нужной
информации);
- осуществление регулятивных действий самооценки в процессе
коммуникативной деятельности.

Речевая компетенция а) в области говорения :
-передавать основную мысль прочитанного текста .
- сообщать фактическую информацию ,отвечая на вопросы разных видов.
б) в области аудирования
- воспринимать на слух и понимать в целом речь учителя ,одноклассников
в) в области чтения
-читать про себя и понимать основное/ необходимое содержание аутентичного текста ,содержащего
некоторое количество неизученных языковых явлений;
-пользоваться сносками.
Языковая компетенция
- адекватно произносить и различать на слух звуки английского языка ,соблюдать правильное
ударение в словах и фразах;
- соблюдать ритмико-интонационные особенности предложений различных типов ,правильно
членить предложения на смысловые группы.
-распознавать в тексте и употреблять в речи изученные ЛЕ в их основном значении по теме «США»
Социокультурная компетенция
-получить представление о некоторых фактах из истории и культуры США,
-понимать роль владения иностранным языком в современном мире.

- уметь пользоваться стратегией чтения с извлечением нужной /основной информации ;
-развивать умение действовать по образцу при составлении собственных высказываний.

Today we have an unusual lesson .We are going to travel.
2.Речевая зарядка.
-And now tell me please : Where do you live? Which country?
P.1- I live in Russia.
T:-What else do you know countries?
-What English –speaking countries do you know?(England, Australia, Scotland, New Zealand, the
USA..)
-Have you ever been to an English-speaking countries?
-Would you like to go there? –Yes.
We must know some information about this country.
So, I’ve got a letter to my e-mail. Let’s listen to it.
Guide: Hello, children! My name is Sergey! I’ll be your guide today. I know that you are going to travel.
And I’ll read you the poem and you’ll try to guess: What we are going to talk about.
POEM: It’s the country of the dream
Where many Pilgrims live
Lots of cities sights and places
White and black and yellow faces.
Grand Canyon and National Parks,
Redwood trees and dangerous sharks
Hollywood and Rushmore Mount,
Did you guess what we are going to talk about?
T: What are you going to talk about?
T-Yes ,that’s right. We are going to talk about the sights of the USA. And tell me please :What can
help us to travel?
-Yes, that’s right. We need a map . Look at the blackboard. It’s a map. What’s country is it ? It’s the
USA.
-Children, tell me please How can we sound the theme of our lesson?(вывесить на доску)
The aim of our lesson is: to know new country and its sights and symbols.
3.Фонетическая зарядка.(аудирование)
Guide: And now children, I suggest you to listen to the song, which help us to know some new information
about the USA. And try to answer the questions .
T: Children, do you understand the task?(электронный учебник)стр.73
(на вопросы отвечают устно)прослушали песню 2 раза.
-Every traveler has a diary and a map and I suggest you such form of the diary. You must fill in the
table about the USA.(показать образец, просмотреть заполнение таблиц)You need to look at your
song once more and find the names of these photos. How much are they ?Let’s count. _Yes ,5 photos.
Did you notice that not all columns are filled? 3 columns are missing. I have another video for you.
You watch it ,it may help us to fill in the tables.

Guide: Children, I sent you 3 letters with texts. I suggest you to read them .While reading these texts you ‘ll
know some new interesting information about the USA.
T: So. I have 3 envelopes with texts. The texts are different. Your task is to find some new information
about the USA. First of all, you need to sit into 3 groups. Pay attention to your symbols and take your
sits.
TASK: 1) Read the text
2) Find the information and fill the tables
3)Change your information.

Your time is up. Choose one pupil and change the information.
TEXTS:
New York is the biggest city in the United States of America. Manhattan is part of New York. Giant
redwood trees grow in the mountains near the West Coast of the United States. Washington D.C. is the
capital of the USA. The president of the USA lives in the White House in Washington,D.C. The rocks in the
Grand Canyon are very colorful. They are red ,purple ,grey and green. At Mount Rushmore you can see the
heads of four American presidents carved into the rock. The heads are twenty-seven meters long.
New York is the biggest city in the United States of America. Manhattan is part of New York. Giant
redwood trees grow in the mountains near the West Coast of the United States. Washington D.C. is the
capital of the USA. The president of the USA lives in the White House in Washington, D.C. The rocks in
the Grand Canyon are very colorful. They are red ,purple ,grey and green. There is the Statue of Liberty on
Liberty Island in New York. It was a gift to the United States from the people of France. The author of the
statue is the French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi.

Los Angeles, California - situated west-northwest of Downtown Los Angeles. It is also a major center of
U.S. television industry.
