4. Развитие монологической речи:
T: I want you to speak about different kinds of advertisements.
P1 : We see thousands of adverts every day- in the streets, on television, in
supermarkets and in newspapers and magazines. Each advert tells us how
wonderful the product is. The company wants us to remember the product and
buy it.
P2: One way of getting people to remember a product is to use famous
people. Celebrities are used to sell expensive goods because companies want
us to link the products with success and beauty. These adverts are careful to
tell us that buying a shampoo advertised by a famous actress or wearing the
trainers worn by a successful sportsman will make us beautiful and successful,
too. Adverts that use celebrities can cost a lot of money, but people are
persuaded to buy the product. Sometimes they spend a lot of money on
luxury goods they can’t afford.
P3: Another way to promote products is to make unusual adverts. In some parts
of the USA adverts are printed on beaches by special trucks. This way of
advertising is very popular with companies. Because it’s impossible to ignore
an ad you have to sit on.On busy beaches the adverts are destroyed by midday
so the same advert is made again every morning.
P4: Another unusual form of advertising uses different people’s faces. It’s an
easy way for people to earn money and very popular with students.Colourful
company logos and product names are painted on students’ faces by an
advertising agency. The students are paid to walk around with the advert for a
week. It’s a cheap way for companies to get their message across.
P5: If you don’t believe that you are influenced by advertisements, even ones
you don’t like you are wrong. Adverts aren’t successful if they are liked, they
are successful if they are remembered. They could make us laugh or they
could make us angry, but as long as people buy the product,it’s a good ad. We
may not like the adverts we see, but they work.
