Christmas in Russia
- Russian people celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January. Before Christmas we fast for forty days. We cannot eat meat of cheese, butter or ice-cream, but we can eat fish, vegetables and fruit.

- On Chistmas Eve Russian people decorate a Chistmas tree with coloured balls and little coloured lights. The churches are beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and flowers.
- At night there is a beautiful Christmas service and a lot of people go to church on Christmas night. After church Russian people give each other presents. When they come home, they eat a lot of tasty food for Christmas dinner.
- Children enjoy Christmas becouse there are a lot of wonderful Christmas parties! There is an interesting tradition — children sing special Christmas songs («kolyadki») and get tasty sweets, fruit or cookies!
