The talented artist He is one of the rare artists who have climbed to the top of their chosen profession. In his childhood Polunin was born June 12, 1950, in the town of Novosil, Oryol Oblast, Russia, into the family of a shop assistant. He was successful in his school theatre, imitating Charlie Chaplin, but was refused entry to the Leningrad Theater Institute due to poor pronunciation. After a few years' study at an engineering school, he graduated from the Leningrad Institute for Soviet Culture, where he later taught. Family He has a wife (Elena Dmitrievna). She is an actress, works with her husband. Children: Dmitry Ushakov; Polunin Paul was studying at the music school in St. Petersburg; Ivan Polunin plays on stage with his parents. Career In 1968, Polunin started the semi-professional pantomime theater, Litsedeyi. In 1981, his first very successful television performance took place on the New Year's Eve program Goluboy Ogonyok. Polunin’s show Polunin’s show is constantly changing. Each show is so different from another that “If you watch the show once a year, you will see that each time it’s a new one,” says Slava Polunin. Mime artists Mime traditionally means acting without words. Mime artists believe that they can communicate without language- speak with their bodies. Slava Polunin believes that you can do a show without words but if it needs a word, it’s better to put one in.
