Robert Burns Party
На сцене – карта Великобритании, флаги Британии и Шотландии, символы
Шотландии: репейник и волынка. За сценой – 2 ведущих-детей, участники
сценки «Вьюга» На сцену выходит 1 педагог – ведущий (Медведева Людмила
Васильевна)
LV – Dear friends! Welcome to our party. Today we’re going to speak about Robert
Burns, a famous Scottish poet. And where is Scotland? Who knows? Can you show it
on the map ?
Антон: Scotland is in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
(показывает).
LV – Scotland is different from England. It has its own symbols. What are they?
Даша: It’s a flag called St.Andrew’s, the thistle, the bagpipe, the kilt. (Антон
показывает).
LV – This small country has got a very interesting history. The Scottish have always
wanted to be strong and independent. Let’s watch some video about this part of Great
Britain.
(Видеофрагмент о Шотландии 3 мин.) Людмила Вас. готовит магнитофон с
кассетой вьюги и включает после Дашиных слов «future destiny».
Даша – Scottish crofts… In one of them Robert Burns the hero of Scotland was
born.. But on the first day of his life he was just a baby and nobody knew his future
destiny.
За сценой слышится завывание бури, сцена изображает дом, где живут
соседи семьи Бернса – муж и жена. Муж что-то прибивает молотком, жена
накрывает на стол.
Woman: the night is so stormy! It is snowing. (Раздается стук в дверь.) Somebody is
knocking.
Husband: I’ll open the door.
Burns’ mother: My dear neighbours! The storm has broken the roof of my house.
May I spend this night at your place?
Woman: Oh, dear! You are welcome! Sit down, please. let me have a look at your
baby. What a handsome boy! What is his name?
Burns’ mother: Robin.
Woman: It’s a lovely name!
Husband: Hush! Somebody is knocking again. Who can it be? The snowstorm is so
terrible!
Woman: Oh, a stranger may have lost his way. Open the door, my dear.

Gypsy: Hello! How are you? I’m cold and wet. May I warm myself in your house?
Woman: Of course, my dear Sarah. She is a Gypsy. She can tell fortunes.
Gypsy: What a nice baby! What is his name?
Burns’mother: Robert. Robert Burns.
Gypsy: Let me see his hand. Oh, this boy won’t be a fool. He’ll be famous! He won’t
be rich, but he’ll be happy in love. ( Берет ребенка на руки). He will glorify his
family and country.
(Под завывания вьюги ребята уходят со сцены.)
На сцену выходит второй ведущий-педагог с книгой в руках (Костяева
Елена Вениаминовна). Двое ведущих – детей выходят с ним и становятся
справа и слева от взрослого.
EV – The Scottish people are proud of the name of Robert Burns and today we
honour his memory. I’ve got a book of his poems in my hands. If you read all his
poems you’ll be able to see all his life from the very beginning. When was Robert
born?
P1 – Robert Burns was born in 1759 on the 25
th
of January. He was born in Alloway,
in Ayshire, Scotland.
EV – What family did he come from?
P2 – His father was a farmer and Burns spent his youth in hard work and poverty.

He’ll have misfortunes great and small,
But at a heart above them all,

Ведущий педагог выходит на сцену.
EV – In 1773 Robert was a boy of 14. Do you know when boys begin to write
poems?
(Ответ зала). Oh, it’s a well-known fact. All great poets began to write poems when
they fell in love with girls. Burns’ loving girl was Jean Armour, the daughter
of a rich man. Jean Armour became Robert Burns’ wife and he knew very well the
words Happiness, Love and Beauty! He wrote a lot of poems and songs about love
and one of the best is “A Red, Red Rose” Дима и Юля, you are welcome.

LV- Scotland! A beautiful country that inspired Robert Burns to write so many
wonderful verse. By the way, what do you think – is it easy to translate his poems?
(Ответ детей из зала) I think, no, because they have the mixture of old Scottish and
English words. I’ve got an idea. Let’s have a competition for the best translation of
the poetry of Robert Burns. But first let’s listen to his famous poem “My Heart’s in
the Highlands” . Илья Козлов!

My heart’s in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer;
Chasing the wild deer and following the roe –

LV - Now I want to invite here our young translators. They are going to read their
versions in Russian. Let’s compare! Who’s the best? The first is 8 B class. You are
welcome.

loved Burns’ poetry and did lots of Russian translations. Let’s compare! Whose the

Антон – People all over Britain admired his poems. Burns’ name became popular in
London and Edinburgh. But aristocrats were surprised to see the poor farmer in the
high society and their attitude to the poet was snobbish.
Даша - But Robert was always for equality of men. In his epigrams he criticized
upper classes for their hypocrisy, cruelty and snobbery. Listen to the epigrams.

эпиграмм.

Нет, у него не лживый взгляд,
Его глаза не лгут.
Они правдиво говорят,
Что их владелец – плут.
Чтец 8 А все-таки, джентльмены, кто такой, этот Роберт Бернс? Обыкновенный
выходец из народа, простолюдин.
Чтец 7 Не скажите! Говорят, он знает всего Шекспира.

Лорду, который не впустил в свои палаты
поэта и его друзей.
EV – Unfortunately the last years of Burns’ life were very hard. The poet became
poor and ill. He needed money badly. He wrote in his letter: “ A shopkeeper whom I
owe a large sum of money took a proceeding against me. Could you do me a favour
and send me ten pounds? If you new my proud heart you would know, how I feel.
Save me from the terror of prison.” On the 21 of July in 1796 being 37 years old
Burns died of heart disease.
