The 2014 Olympics showed some pretty high speed but some animals can do much better than
the famous sportsmen. So, today we`ll talk about superheroes among animals.

Пума – Both pumas and African leopards have been seen to jump 5,5 meters up into a tree.

Морская змея – Sea snakes can dive 100 meters deep and stay under water for up to 5 hours.
Some sea snakes can swim at the rate of 1 meter per second.
Гепард - A cheetah can reach a top speed of 96-102 kilometers an hour. Its spine is very
flexible and bends up and down, giving its legs a longer stride. But such fast sprints are tiring
and cheetahs quickly become very hot. After about 400 meters, they need a good rest.
Рыба-парусник – Incredibly, the sailfish can swim faster than a cheetah can run. Its top speed
is 109 kilometers an hour.
Беличья обезьяна - Squirrel monkeys sometimes leap straight into the air from the tree tops to
catch insects. Sometimes these leaps are up to 60 meters.
Черная мамба – The black mamba can reach speed of 25 kilometers per hour in short bursts. It
races along with its head and the front of the body raised, mouth open and tongue flicking.
Красный кенгуру – The red kangaroos can jump over obstacles as high as 3 meters. Using their
powerful hind legs, they can travel as far as 9 meters in one huge bound.
