Ghosts in Britain
History of Ghosts
- One of the most frequently reported ghost sightings in England dates back to the 16th century.
- Anne Boleyn, the second wife of King Henry VIII and mother of Queen Elizabeth I, was executed at the Tower of London in May 1536 after being accused of witchcraft.
- Sightings of Boleyn’s ghost have been reported at the tower as well as in various other locations, including her childhood home, Hever Castle, in Kent.
- It’s the haunted Tower of London, with reports of clunking chains and deathly shrieks
- Though many ghost sightings have been reported at the White House in Washington, D.C., over the years, perhaps no political figure has made so frequent an appearance in the afterlife as Abraham Lincoln .
- Most civilizations have their own beliefs of the afterlife and to best illustrate this I can refer to a opinion poll undertaken in 2004. The poll showed that 34 percent of British people believe in ghosts, 92 percent believe in God and another 34 percent believe in UFOs
- Spirits want attention from living people. They manifest themselves in order to get attention. They necessarily don’t want to harm people.
- Paranormal activity is independent of time. It will occur at any time of the day.
- Sound of footsteps, smell and knocks at the door are the most common symptoms of a haunted place.
- A place can be haunted by spirits for 100 years without anyone getting even a hint about it.
- Evil spirits are bullies. They fear from people who stand for themselves.
- Ghost tours are very popular with visitors in London .
- A ghost tour of London may take nerves of steel! Why not try the Ghost Bus Tours for a sweeping view of some of the city’s most notorious sites ?
- Thank you for your attention !
