Тема урока: Телевидение в нашей жизни. Плюсы и минусы TV.
Тип урока: урок совершенствования лексических навыков по теме, урок
развития речевых умений.
Ход урока:
1. Good morning, boys and girls. How are you today? What’s the date today?
Lets start our class. First of all, lets answer some questions. You’re to
answer them and to guess the topic of our class.(слайд 1)
Did you watch TV yesterday?
How many hours a day do you spend in front of the “telly”?
Do you think you watch TV too much?
Do you like advertising (ads)?Why?
Does TV do you any harm (good)?
You’re right. Today we’re talking about “the box, “the telly, “the one-eyed
monster. We’re going to speak about the importance of TV, its advantages and
disadvantages. So the topic of our class is “TV OR NOT TV?”(слайд 2)
2. Children, do you know the meaning of the word “television”. Look at the
board, please. Lets read a little. We’ll know the origin of this word. (слайд
3).
3. TV plays a very important role in our life. It has a lot of functions. What are
they? ( слайд 4). Give me some more of them. (Ученики на доске пишут
функции телевидения, подкрепляя фактами).
4. Now its time to learn a few facts about the history of international
television. (слайд 5).
5. We’ve talked and read a little bit. Now we’re ready to revise the words on
the topic. Translate the words from Russian into English.

6. Now let’s fill in the necessary letters in these words. Sasha, come up to the
blackboard, please (слайд 6). Ученик запмсывает слова со слайда на
доску, вставляя нужные буквы.
7. Its not surprising that TV is one of the most powerful mass media. There’re
a lot of channels on TV. Which ones are your favourite? (слайд 7).
8. Besides there’re different programmes on TV. Look at the picture. Try to
match the picture and the type of the programme. (слайд 8).
9. What other programmes do you know? Let’s play the game Auction”.
You’re to name a type of a programme (or of a film).The last person who
names a programme is the winner.
10. Good job! We’ve read, talked and written. Now its time to listen to the text
and find out the attitude of speakers to TV( учебник, упр.1 стр.44).Lets
read 5 main ideas of the people’s monologues. You’re to match the person
and his words.
11. We’ve listened to the opinion of other people. We’ll speak up a little bit
now. We’ll all have roles and speak on behalf of some celebrity. I’ll give
you a few minutes to prepare (ученикам даются карточки с именами).
12. Now let’s divide into 2 teams and try to make a little talk show. We are to
name advantages and disadvantages of TV.(Класс делится на 2 команды(
за и против), которые по очереди называют положительные и
негативные стороны ТВ. (Представители команд фиксируют ответы на
доске).
Например: + TV can educate people all over the world.
-TV distracts us from other useful activities.
13. Thank you very much for sharing your opinion. Now we should make the
conclusion. (e.g.: TV has bad and good sides. We should use it in the right
way and watch only high quality programmes).(Ученики делают
собственные выводы).
