Superstitions in Britain.
Цель урока: познакомить учащихся с традициями и культурой страны изучаемого
языка на основе праздника «Хэллоуин».
Задачи урока:
Образовательная: совершенствование навыков изучающего чтения по теме;
Развивающая: повышение мотивации к изучению английского языка;
Воспитательная: воспитание уважительного отношения к языку и культуре другой
страны.
Оборудование: ПК, проектор, презентация Power Point «Halloween Quiz».
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент. Фонетическая зарядка (5 минут)

- Good morning, boys and girl!
- Glad to see you.
- How are you today?
- I’m fine, thanks. Sit down, please.
- Who’s absent today?
- Well, today we’ll speak about
superstitions in Britain. But now look at the
blackboard. There is a funny poem about
witch. Let’s read it together. Repeat after me.
- Good morning, teacher.
- Glad to see you too.
- Fine, thanks. And you?
- All are present // Anna and Victor are
absent today.

Most people in the world have some superstitions.
What do you know about superstitions in Britain?
- In Britain black cats mean good luck.
- In Britain people believe that walking under a
ladder means bad luck.
- The number 13 is said to be unlucky too.
- The breaking of the mirror will bring you seven
years of bad luck.
- Also there is a superstition of touching wood for
luck.

- Well, I see you know about superstitions very
much. Please, open your book, page 20, exercise
51. There are a few British superstitions. Please,
read it.
- What new superstitions did you know?
- Great! Now let’s read some facts about
Halloween. Please, look at the exercise 58, page
21.
Well. Can you name at least 3 special things
people do on Halloween?
- Well done! Now you know about Halloween
very much.

- I knew about catching falling leaves in autumn. I
didn’t know that every leaf means good luck.
- I didn’t know that I shouldn’t open an umbrella in
the house. I didn’t know that it means bad luck.
- I knew about funny superstition about white
rabbits on the first day of the month.

- People dress up as witches, vampires, devils,
ghosts.
- People decorate their houses with pumpkins with
candles inside them.
- Children knock at the door and ask «Trick or
treat? »
- People organize scary parties, where one person
tells a scary story in a low voice.
