«Schools in Britain and in Russia»
Цели урока:
- познавательный аспект: познакомить учащихся с системой образования в
Великобритании.
- учебный аспект: практиковать учащихся в аудировании и обсуждении интервью о
школах и образовании в Британии, формировать навыки устной речи по темам “Schools in
Britain”.
- развивающий аспект: развитие речевых способностей, развитие умений сравнивать,
развитие личностной активности учащихся, их воображения.
- воспитательный аспект: формирование положительного отношения к британской
культуре, более глубокое осознание своей родной культуры.
Речевой материал: Lesson 1 Unit 5.
Грамматический материал: общие и специальные вопросы, употребление структур в
Past Simple, Present Perfect, present Simple.
I. Оргмомент.
Вступительное слово учителя.
Let’s imagine that you are going to live in Britain. What must you and your parents know about
the school education system in Great Britain before going there? Let’s discuss this problem,
compare school systems in Russia and in Great Britain.
II. But first I’m going to check your homework. I will ask you words in Russia and you will
give me your answer in English. (Спрашиваю лексику пройденного материала 10 мин.)
III. Open your book at page 128, look through the table presenting education system in
Britain.
-T.: Now, we will do exercise № 1 Look at the table presenting the education system in
England and Walse and answer the questions in your copybook.
(Ученики отвечают на вопросы, согласно таблице).
-P₁: Three and four-year old children go to nursery school.
-P₂: Most children start school at 5 in a primary school.
-P₃: Primary school consists of a reception class, infant school and junior school.
-P₄: Reception class and infant school take a year, from 5 to 6.
-P₅: In junior school pupils spend 5 years from 7 till 11.
-P₆: After primary school pupils study at secondary school.
-P₇: They study at secondary school for 5 years.
-P8: They leave school at 16 and have several opportunities to continue their studies elsewhere.
-P9: There are state and private schools in Britain.
-P10: Private schools are very expensive. And there are some types of schools where children
have got entrance exams, for example grammar schools.

IV. Релаксация.
Игра – пантомима “My working day”. Ученики изображают действия, которые они обычно
выполняют в школе и в течение дня.
V. T.: Now let’s listen the interview and find the necessary information. You must divide into 2
groups. The first group will find the questions and the second group will find the answers.
Ученики слушают запись интервью, записывают в тетрадь вопросы репортёра, и ответы
на них
-P₁: What types of school are there in Britain?
-P₂: There are state and private schools in our country.
-P₃: Is secondary education compulsory for all children?
-P₄: Yes, all children must attend school fulltime between the ages of 6 and 16.
-P₅: How long does a pupil stay at a primary school?
-P₆: In a primary school pupils spend 4 years.
-P₇: What age do children enter the secondary school?
-P8: At about 10 or 11 children move to a new school – secondary school.
-P9: What kind of school is a boarding school?
-P10: Boarding schools are schools where children live as well as study.
-P₂: Are there any schools where children have to take entrance exams?
-P₁: Yes, there are gymnasiums, lyceums, some specialized schools.
-P₄: When do pupils graduate from secondary school?
-P₃: They graduate from secondary school at 16 or 17.
-P₆: Can pupils continue their education?
-P₅: Yes, they can continue their studies elsewhere. They can enter a medical school, a Suvorov
school, a Nakhimov school, a junior technical college or an art school or get a job.
-P8: What do Russian students do at 16 or 17?
-P₇: Russian students can get higher education at any college, university, Academy, institute or
they can get a job.
-P10: When do Russian school children have their exams?
-P9: They have exams after the 9-th Form and after the 11-th Form (at the age of 15 and 16-17.)
