Travelingwhat for?
Обобщающий урок по учебнику В. П.
Кузовлева, 8-й класс.
Цели: совершенствовать речевые (диалогическая, монологическая
форма) и грамматические ( Passive voice) навыки; активизировать
лексические навыки; обучить аудированию с целью понимания
общего содержания.
Оборудование: карточки с упражнениями; магнитофон, компьютер,
доска, проектор, экран; упражнения с заданиями, выполненные на
компьютере.
Ход урока:
1. Организационный момент.
Teacher: Good morning! Take your seats, please, and get
ready for the lesson. Today the theme of our lesson is
«Traveling… what for»? It’s a revision lesson. We’ve
spoken a lot on how to spend your free time. Traveling is
considered to be one of the best ways of spending
holidays and it plays an important part in people’s
entertainment.
2. I’d like you to hear a song «Brighton in the rain». And
then Dadaeva Marha and Guseinov Salman retell this
song by heart.
And now answer my question: «Did you understand what
this song is about?»
3. Warming-up.
Teacher: To begin with, let’s remember proverbs about
traveling. Match two parts and translate them. Repeat it
after me, please.
Every country has it’s customs.
East or West, home is best.
There is no place like home.
The wider we roam the welcomer home
.
4. Чтение высказывания с общим охватом содержания.
Teacher: There is a saying about traveling. Let’s read and
translate it. Do you share this opinion?
Учащиеся пытаются перевести подчеркнутые
выражения в высказывании, затем отвечают на
вопрос.
5. Развитие речевых навыков.
Teacher: Why do people travel? Give your reasons
Now look at the scheme. Have we mentioned all
the points?
Pros
Discover new places, help to become more educated person,
improve knowledge of foreign language, broaden your
mind, teach people about art and culture, help to relax,
meet interesting people, see world wonders.
Cons
Wait at airports, depend on the weather, have to think about
accommodation and food, many places are polluted, the
beauty of many places has disappeared, beaches are
always overcrowded, the most fantastic place is home.

Visitor: Yes, please. I’d like to go to Britain this summer.

Travel agent: Oh, that’s quite easy. I’ll give you some
travel leaflets. You’ll find lot’s of information there.
Visitor: Thank you. Um… I’m fond of horse riding. And I’d
like to take a riding holiday. What can you suggest?
Travel agent: No problem. We have some special tours.
Visitor: Um… One more question, please. How much will it
cost?
Travel agent: In this leaflet you’ll find all the prices.
Visitor: Thank you.
