«Ecology of the planet is in danger»
Задачи урока:
1.Контроль ЗУН
2.Знакомство учащихся с ситуацией, угрожающей экосистеме
планеты
3.Формирование речевых умений и навыков в монологической,
диалогической речи
4.Формирование ответственного отношения к природе, проблемам
окружающей среды, желание помочь природе
Оборудование: слайды, выполненные в компьютерном варианте
(Microsoft Power Point), тесты, дополнительные тексты по теме,
предупреждающие знаки.

Ход урока
I. Организация класса к уроку:
a) Приветствие.
b) Погода. We are having a nice day. The weather is rather nice today. It’s not very cold
outside. Usually it snows in the middle of November. But there is no snow outside.
What is the reason? –It’s the effect of global warming on the planet.
II. Основная часть. Обучение основным коммуникативным умениям.
a) Постановка цели урока. Today we are going to speak about the problems of our
ecology and try to find the ways out. The motto of our lesson “Think globally, act locally”. The
world around is wonderfull, you can enjoy every day of your life. Look at the screen you can see
picturesque places . (2-й слайд)
b) Презентация паспорта планеты. When every human is 14, he gets a passport. Our
planet also has a passport.(3-й слайд)
c) Активизация лексики.
Pollution, oxygen, chemical waste, creature, acid rain, garbage, litter, solve a problem,
international disaster
d) Раскрытие темы урока. Выступление учащихся. Развитие монологической речи.

Sometimes we have problems. Our planet has problems. What are they?
- Air pollution What is harmful to the air?
- Water pollution What is the effect of water pollution?
-Too much waste Where do we pile our litter, garbage?
- Red data book What animals are included in Red Data book?
Water pollution. The planet Earth is mostly water. Water is very important for life on the earth.
The oceans, the seas, the rivers, the lakes cover the biggest part of it. All life on the earth from the
tiny bug to the biggest whale depends on water. But we do nothing to keep water clean. In many places
it has become polluted. The rivers and lakes are polluted by garbage or by poisonous chemicals which
are dumped right into them. It happens so because factories and plants produce a lot of waste and pour
it into water. So they poison the rivers, lakes and seas. There is not enough oxygen in the water. Some of
our rivers are now empty of fish. Factories use clean water. After the water is used it becomes poisoned
which goes back into rivers, lakes and seas. And in some rivers you can see a thick foam caused by
chemical waste. Go to the seaside and you’ll see nasty beaches around you. There is a lot of litter on
the beaches. Some of them was left by the people and some was brought by the water. Sometimes
people can’t swim even in seas. They are also filled with poison: industrial and nuclear waste. The ocean
which is a home for lots of marine creatures has been used as a place to dump garbage and poisonous
chemicals for a long time .It’s getting polluted too. In many places water is not drinkable even it’s
dangerous to use while cooking .Our mission. We must keep water clean and healthy so people, plants
and animals will always have to drink. What’s more, fish and other creatures will have place to live.
Air pollution. There is another serious problem. People started building factories. Those
factories and many of the things they make, like cars, put a lot of harmful gases into the air.
Then people started driving cars, which added more pollution. Sometimes it’s not always safe
to breathe. Many cities have air filled with a pollution called “smog”. It’s so strong in some
places that the air, which should be beautiful blue, actually looks brown. Polluted air is not only
bad for people and animals, but for trees and other plants, as well. And in some places it’s even
damaging farmer’s crops – food we eat. Planes and cars, boats and buses produce toxic gases
which pollute They also make a lot of noise, which is another kind of pollution. Perhaps the
best answer to this problem is a quiet, clean bicycle. When nuclear power stations go wrong
they cause nuclear pollution. Our parents know the results of Chernobyl tragedy. Sometimes
the gases get into rain clouds, where they get mixed in with rain or snow. Then the acid falls
back to earth with the rain or snow and it’s called acid rain. Our mission. We must plant trees,
ride a bike and even write a letter to a local newspaper with your best ideas of cleaning up
countryside.
Too much waste. People at home produce waste too. Rich countries are more wasteful
than poor ones. Every day New York produces more than 24.000 tons of waste. Waste can be
many things. It can be a garbage can. Every day a truck takes it away to a special place. Our
mission. Don’t buy drinks in plastic bottles. These bottles can’t be recycled and plastic won’t
degrade. Buy milk and juice in cartoons. Don’t throw away old paper. We can use it for making
papier- mache! After great picnics we must leave our place clean.
Animals and birds are in danger. They suffer from human beings, they are
destroying animals homes. Tigers and elephants are hunted for some purposes. Tigers are
hunted for their beautiful skin and bones. Their bones are used in traditional Chinese medicine.
People can sell the skin and get a lot of money as their prices are high. The result is very sad-
Indian tigers are few on the Earth now. Our land is full of beautiful flowers, plants, trees which
grow and blossom in the meadows, on the banks of the rivers and lakes. Many flowers are
disappearing now. Many species of animals and birds are included in Red data book. Our
mission. To preserve them in their natural habitats Safari parks are being created nowadays.
We must take care of them- not to hurt wild animals, not to pick flowers. We should cooperate
and take some measures with GREEN PEACE organization

The Red Data Book.
I’ve fetched a special book from the library. It’s the Red Data
Book. It’s a reference book on rare and disappearing animals.
The color “red” is a dangerous signal understandable to all
people in the world. The red color means “No passage! Stop!”.
You have to think why many plants and animals disappear
every day. It’s the result of human’ s interference into the wild
life.The red colour is one of blood and life. You should hear the
world around you. A lot of animals, birds, plants and insects are
included into the Red Data Book. I want to say some words
about swans.
The swans are good parents! The mother swan lays 5-7 eggs
in spring. They are white or blue. Small swans come out grey or
brown, not white. These kids stay with their parents for a year.
They learn to swim, to fly and to find good green plants to eat.
Their parents teach them and protect them from other animals
g) Обсуждение проблем нашего города. Развития навыков диалогической речи. (8-й
слайд)
Our town has a lot of enterprises:
- plant KamAZ
- card-board paper plant.
- argicultural complexes:”Chelny-Broiler”, “Vesenniy”
Now let’s discuss problems of our town. How do these enterprises influence the ecology
of our Kama-Volga region? Use your cons and pros.
