Цель урока - свободное владение лексическими единицами и
грамматическими структурами при обсуждении темы «Государство
всеобщего благосостояния»
Задачи урока
1)образовательные:
-совершенствовать умение употреблять изученные лексические единицы в речи учащихся;
-совершенствовать произносительные навыки;
-совершенствовать грамматические навыки: придаточные предложения с союзами и
предлогами;
Совершенствовать навыки высказывания собственного мнения;
2)развивающие:
-развивать навыки монологической и диалогической речи;
-развивать творческие способности учащихся;
Развивать интерактивно-коммуникативные способности;
3)воспитательные:
-воспитывать у учащихся уважение к культуре своей страны и страны изучаемого языка
Применяемые технологии
-коммуникативно-ориентированное обучение;
- развитие познавательных интересов;
- личностно-ориентированное обучение;
- информационные технологии ( интерактивные технологии)
.Оборудование и оснащение –Smart доска (И.А.Д.), магнитофон, кассета с
записью песни «The Streets Of London», карточки с заданиями теста, таблички с надписью
PRESS, MP
Время-40 минут
ХОД УРОКА:
1. Организационный момент:
- Morning, everybody. I am glad to see you. Our today’s lesson is devoted to
the Welfare state. We are going to discuss some problems concerning the
Welfare. During our discussion try to use the active vocabulary of the unit,
we’ve been studying this term, its grammar structures. Do your best.

Today you are the members of the Parliament and some of you will be the
Press. The topic of our debates is the Welfare state (Слайд №1). Do you
support the Welfare? Do you know the problems of the citizens? How can you
help? You are to answer all this questions.
My first question is:
-What does the expression «welfare state» mean?
(This is a system of caring for the citizens through a range of services).
-What major spheres does it operate in?
(The welfare system operates in five major spheres: education, social security,
community care, health and housing.) ( Слайд №2)
What categories of citizens are entitled to various benefits?
(The poor, the unemployed, …) (Слайд №3)
Обсуждение новых л.е. современного английского языка.
(welfare mother, welfare queen).
-What benefits are these categories entitled to?

4.Чтение текста « The origin of the welfare state in Britain» и обсуждение
прочитанного. (Слайд №5)

P1 -As for me I didn’t quite catch:
-When was the first state pension introduced?
-What payments did the government provide?
-An especially hated institution in the 19 century was the workhouse, wasn’t
it? Why?
-What benefits were introduced during the 20 century?
5 Монологические высказывания учащихся по теме урока:

Have you seen the old man in the closed-down market,
Kicking up the papers with his worn-out shoes?
In his eyes you see no pride and held loosely by his side
Yesterday’s paper telling yesterday’s news.

Memories fading with the medal ribbons that he wears?
And in our winter city rain cries a little pity
For one more forgotten hero and a world that doesn’t care.
