Ask What country is the flag from? Elicit The
United Kingdom.
Ask the children to tell you what they know
about the United Kingdom, e.g. What is the
capital city? What nationality are the people?
What language do they speak?lm\\e the

about the UK.
Ask the children to read the text silently. Then
ask some questions to check comprehension,
e.g. Where is Heathrow airport? What do you
need to travel by plane? Before reading an
information text, elicit from the children what
they know about the subject. This will engage
and motivate them and will activate their
knowledge and vocabulary so that they can
understand the text better.
