BABY ELEPHANT AND HIS NEW THINGS

- PART 1
- Father Elephant and Mother Elephant live in a forest and they have a little Baby Elephant.
- One day Father Elephant comes home and sees that (что) his dear little Baby is sad.
- And Father Elephant says: “Why are you sad, my little Baby Elephant?”
- And Baby Elephant says: “Oh, Daddy, my stockings are very old, and I can’t put them on.” “Is that all (и это всё)?” says Daddy Elephant. “Well, come with me, I’ll buy [bai] (куплю) you new stockings.”
- They come to Mrs Lion’s shop.
- “Good morning, Mrs Lion,” says Daddy Elephant.
- “Good morning, Daddy Elephant!” says Mrs Lion .
- “Have you some stockings for my little Baby Elephant? I want to buy him new stockings,” says Daddy Elephant. “All our stockings are too small for your Baby Elephant. But wait (подождите) a little, and my little Lions will make him some beautiful stockings.”
- The little Lions make new nice long yellow stockings for Baby Elephant.
- Then Daddy Elephant pays (платит) for the stockings and puts them on Baby Elephant.
- Baby Elephant is very glad, and he says: “I like my new stockings very mush, and I thank you, but – Dear Daddy, buy me new shoes [∫u:z] (туфли) for my new stockings.”
- PART 2
- Baby Elephant is very glad, and he says: “I like my new stockings very mush, and I thank you, but – Dear Daddy, buy me new shoes for my new stockings.”
- And Daddy Elephant laughs and says: “I’ll buy you new shoes.”
- They come to Mrs Tiger’s shop.
- “Good morning, Mrs Tiger,” says Daddy Elephant.
- “Good morning, Daddy Elephant!”
- says Mrs Tiger .
- “Have you some shoes for my little Baby Elephant? I want to buy him new shoes,” says Daddy Elephant.
- “All the shoes we have are too small for your Baby Elephant. But wait a little, and my little Tigers will make him some nice shoes.”
- The little Tigers make new nice red shoes for Baby Elephant.
- Then Daddy Elephant pays for the shoes and puts them on Baby Elephant.
- Baby Elephant is very glad, and he says: “I like my new shoes very mush, and
- I thank you, but – Dear Daddy, buy me a new hat too.”
- PART 3
- Baby Elephant is very glad, and he says: “I like my new shoes very mush, and I thank you, but – Dear Daddy, buy me a new hat too.”
- And Daddy Elephant laughs and says:
- “I’ll buy you a new hat.”
- They come to
- Mrs Monkey’s shop.
- There are a lot of beautiful hats there.
- “Good morning,
- Mrs Monkey ,” says Daddy Elephant.
- “Good morning, Daddy Elephant!” says
- Mrs Monkey .”
- “Have you new spring hats? My little Baby Elephant wants a new hat. I’ll pay for it,” says Daddy Elephant.
- “We have very small hats for your Baby Elephant. But wait a little, and my little Monkeys will make him a big nice hat.”
- The little Monkeys make a new nice green hat for Baby Elephant.
- Then Daddy Elephant puts it on Baby Elephant.
- Baby Elephant is very glad, and he says: “I like my new yellow stockings, new red shoes and my green hat, and I thank you, but – Dear Daddy, buy me a new coat too.”
- PART 4
- Baby Elephant is very glad, and he says: “I like my new yellow stockings, new red shoes and my green hat, and I thank you, but – Dear Daddy, buy me a new coat too.”
- “Oh, my dear Baby!
- I’ll buy you a coat.”
- At last they come to
- Mr Bird.
- “Good morning,
- Mr Bird,”
- says Daddy Elephant.
- “Good morning, Daddy Elephant!”
- says Mr Bird.”
- “Can you make a new coat for my little Baby Elephant? I’ll pay for it,” says Daddy Elephant.
- “I can make a coat for your Baby Elephant,” says Mr Bird.
- And he makes a big nice blue coat for Baby Elephant.
- Baby Elephant likes it, and he says: “Dear Daddy, thank you.
- I like my new things very much. They are so nice.”
- And when Baby Elephant comes home in the evening, he kisses his Mammy Elephant. And then they all have dinner.
