Тема урока: “English Banknotes”
Цели урока:
1. Предметные:
Развитие коммуникативных способностей обучающихся;
систематизация и обобщение знаний и умений по теме «Английские
банкноты;
научиться вести разговор об истории происхождения банкнот.
2. Метапредметные:
Развивать у учащихся умение логически рассуждать, анализировать,
обобщать, делать выводы.
Развивать исследовательские учебные действия, включая навыки
работы с информацией, в том числе умение пользоваться словарями,
справочной литературой, ИКТ.
3. Личностные:
Мотивировать к изучению иностранного языка.
Задачи урока:
1. Обучающие: сформировать умение вести разговор о банкнотах.
2. Развивающая: Развивать познавательный интерес учеников.
3. Воспитательная: содействовать в ходе урока осознанию возможностей
самореализации средствами иностранного языка.
Оборудование урока: мультимедийная доска, презентация, раздаточный
материал.
К концу урока: ученики научатся вести разговор об истории происхождения
банкнот.
ХОД УРОКА
1. Организационный момент
Greeting.
T: Hello, dear boys and girls! I am glad to see you. How are you? Let’s begin our
lesson. Are you ready to start? OK.
Warming up.
Now tell me please, what date is it today? What day of the week is it today? What
season is it now? What’s the weather like today? Right, good.
Aim
Т: Look at the screen.
You can see different pictures. Looking at these pictures can you guess what will
we talk about? (дети отвечают)
T: Yes. You are right. Today we will talk about English Banknotes. We’ll listen to
and read the text and you’ll give the summary of it; then you’ll write a description
of a Russian banknote. Are you ready to start?

T: Do you know who these people are?
T: What do you know about the Queen?
T: Are there any other persons you know?
T: How do you think these people are related to English banknotes?
Reading to identify missing text/ forming derivatives
T: Now you’ll read the text about English banknotes to learn more about
them. While reading you should fill in the gaps with the derivatives of the
words in brackets…Write your examples into your exercise books.
T: I see you’re ready. Let’s listen to the text and check your answers.
T: Well done! Now you will listen to the text once again and you will answer my
questions.
T: Ok. On which banknote can you see Queen Elizabeth II?
T: Yes, you are right! You can see Queen Elizabeth II on all banknotes in the UK.
T: On which banknote can you see Elizabeth Fry?
P1: You can see Elizabeth Fry on the back of a 5-pound note. She improved living
conditions for woman in European prisons.
T: That’s right!
T: On which banknote can you see Edward Elgar?
P2: Edward Elgar used to be on the old 20-pound note. ― British composer.
T: That’s right! T: On which banknote can you see Adam Smith?
P3: You can see Adam Smith on the new 20-pound note. ― economist.
