Тема урока «Соединенные штаты Америки. Достопримечательности Нью –Йорка» (9 класс.)

Цель урока: углубление и закрепление знаний о стране изучаемого языка
Задачи урока:
1.Контроль знаний учащихся по теме «Соединенные Штаты Америки»
2.Знакомство с традициями и обычаями страны изучаемого языка
1.Расширение кругозора учащихся
2.Развитие мотивации к изучению английского языка
1.Воспитание толерантного отношения к другой стране, другой культуре
Оснащение урока: карта США, фотографии достопримечательностей Нью-Йорка ,флаг
США, фотография президента Америки, индивидуальные карточки по теме «Asking the
way», DVD-диск с фильмом «The USA», листы с заданиями к фильму.
Ход урока
1. Организационный момент. Приветствие.
2. Вступительное слово учителя: сообщение темы, цели и задачи урока.
T .Look at the blackboard.You can see a map here. What country is it?
P. The USA
T..Right. The theme of our lesson is «The United States of America» Today we are going to play
a very interesting game and at the end of the lesson we shall know the winner of our game. First
we shall divide into 3teams.Come to me and take some sheets of paper. Pupils who have papers
with the letter «U» are in the first team. Pupils with the letter «S» are in the second team/
Pupils with the letter «A» are in the third team. The name of the first team will be
«Manhattan». The name of the second team will be « Queens». The name of the third team will
be «Brooklyn» For each result in the competition you will get a piece of paper with your letters.
You should collect them and count at the end of the game.. So, teams take your places.

for the right answer .If one team does not know the answer the other team has the right to give the answer.

T/ The next competition is called «The map». Here is a map of the USA and you can see some
stickers with little texts. Your task is take a sticker, read it aloud, guess what it is about and stick it
to the right place. You may consult with your team.
The longest river in the USA. It is 2350 meters long. It carries so much soil and rocks .Its
nickname is Big Muddy (река Миссисипи)
The smallest state in the USA .It is about 1500 the size of Alaska.(Штат Род-Айленд)
Death Valley is the hottest place in the USA. The temperature can reach 54 degrees.Many
people died trying to cross it. Where is this valley situated?(штат Калифорния)
It is the biggest American state. Before 1867,it belonged to Russia. The Russian tsar sold it to
the USA for 7.2 million dollars. This state is the coldest place in the country.( штат Аляска)
In t his city you can get married immediately( Лас-Вегас)
