Конспект урока "Мода циклична, не так ли?" 8 класс

I. Мотивация.
Let’s watch a short video and guess what topic we are going to discuss today.
Do you think the fashion has changed a lot?
Whose fashion men’s or women’s do you think has changed
greater?
They say “History is cyclical”. Do you consider this sayng to be true to
the fashion?
Let’s investigate this question today!
II. Актуализация и фиксирование затруднений.
We’ll see now some pieces of clothes that have changed since some time in
the past. Using the comparative degree of adjectives compare and contrast
two pictures in each pair.
III. Выявление места и причины затруднений.
What’s the problem?
You don’t know the words to name these pieces of clothes. And I see
that you need to revise the rule of the comparative degree formation.
So the aim of our lesson today is 1) to learn about the history of fashion; 2) to
get acquainted with new words that you’ll need to speak about the changes in
fashion; 3) to revise the comparative degree of adjectives.
The topic of our lesson is the following: “Fashion is cyclical, isn’t it?
IV. Построение проекта выхода из затруднений.
Let’s see how we’re going to achieve our aim and cover the topic.
1. We will learn some new words.
2. We will revise the rules of forming the comparative degree of
adjectives.
3. We will read the description of fashion in some periods of time in the
past.
V. Реализация построенного проекта.
1. Learning new words.
Look at the pictures showing men and a woman and pronounce the
marked words.
Guess the meaning of the adjectives according to the meaning of other
words with same roots.
Look at the word-web, guess the meaning of the phrases. Now fill in
the gaps in the sentences with one of these phrases.
Lucy (is fashionable), she wears only modern trendy clothes.
Tight jeans (are in fashion) nowadays both with girls and boys.
I didn’ notice when long dresses (went out of fashion), nobody wears them
now.
2. Revising the comparative degree of adjectives.
Look at the chart and explain the rule.
3. Reading descriptions of fashion in the past.
In pairs you’ll get cards with the information about fashion in different periods
of time. Read it and be ready to tell it to your classmates.
VI. Первичное закрепление с проговариванием во внешней речи.
You have read your short texts, now let’s see if you can match the appearance
of a man and woman to your period of time.

VII. Самостоятельная работа с самопроверкой по эталону.
Now you’ll get cards with exercises. In the first one correct the mistakes. There
is one mistake in each sentence either grammar or lexical. In the second one
translate the parts of the sentences fitting them grammatically and lexically.
Now check your neighbour’s answers and correct mistakes if any.
VIII. Включение в систему знаний, повторение.
We have studied how appearance and clothes, fashion in one word, changed
during the 20
th
century. We have compared outfits and hairstyles of times from
the WWI till the end of the 20
th
century. We can describe the fashion of the
beginning of the 21
st
century, too. By the way, this is your hometask.
“Compare and contrast trends in fashion in the 20
th
and 21
st
centuries. Express
your point of view on what period you consider to be more attractive and
why.”
And now let’s answer the question which we defined as the topic of our lesson
“Fashion is cyclical, isn’t it?”
Find pieces of clothes or their characteristics or traits of appearance that
existed in the past, went out of fashion and then came into fashion again.
Can you think a bit and say when apart from describing a person’s appearance
can we use the words and phrases that we’ve learnt today? (Fashion is a
characteristic of an epoch in the history of this or that country, isn’t it?
Characterising the life of people in different time periods you can analyze how
people dressed and looked like ana add to this description.)
IX. Рефлексия.
Now I’d ask you to evaluate your own work during the lesson.
