Materials: computer, digital projector, pictures of different items of food.
1. Tune in
Hello, my dear children! Sit down, please, and let’s begin our lesson. Today we’ll begin
the new theme. Open your books and read the title, please. Can you translate the words
“yummy, yummy”? (ответы учащихся). Yes, you’re right. So, can you tell me the
theme of this new unit? (ответы учащихся). You are clever! Today we’ll talk about the

food. Что вы обычно едите на завтрак? (ответы учащихся). Look at the screen and
ask each other about your breakfast in English (слайд 1).
2. Class. To revise the vocabulary and structures for talking about food
Exercise 1a. Listen and say what food the children like.
Now we’re going to listen to the recording. Then you must say what food Max and Jane
like (прослушивание записанного упражнения с диска, ответы уч-ся). Let’s check
your answers (слайд 2).
3. Class, individual. To practise expressing likes and dislikes
Exercise 1b. With a partner ask and answer what food you like.
Example: I like ice-cream. And you?
Now I offer you to play the game A memory game(объяснение правил игры: уч-ся
используют образец в задании как модель говорения (цепочкой), учитель
старается запомнить ответы уч-ся, затем задает вопросы - Do you like
tea/coffee, etc, обращаясь к соответствующим уч-ся. Дети должны ответить на
вопрос учителя Yes, I do. I love tea/No, I don’t. I don’t like coffee).
4. Class. To introduce new vocabulary
Exercise 2. Read the menu
Well done. And now let’s go to the cafe. Look at the screen (слайд 3). What is the name
of the café? (Tutti Frutti Cafe). What kind of café it is? (it’s children’s cafe). What can
we eat there? Let’s read the menu (знакомство с меню). Some words are the same in
Russian, name them (ответы уч-ся). We need to learn some new words. Repeat after
me, please (несколько раз проговариваются новые слова).
5. Pairs,сlass. To introduce the concept of countable and uncountable
nouns
Exercise 3. Use the food in the menu to complete the table.
Look at the pictures on the screen (слайд 4), copy the table and complete it (выполнение
задания). Check your answers (проверка ответов на слайде). Why do we have s at
the end of some words? (to show that there are many oranges, bananas, etc). can we
count vegetables and fruit? (Yes, we can). Can we count meat? (No, we can’t).

7. Class. To introduce some/any with countable and uncountable nouns.
Exercise 4. Read the conversation and answer the questions. Complete the
table
Max is going to have a party. He is talking to his mum about the food they have/haven’t
got for the party. Let’s read the conversation and answer the questions (чтение диалога,
объяснение употребления местоимений some/any). And now look at the screen (слайд
5). Complete the table with some / any (read the conversation again) (выполнение
задания, проверка на слайде 5).
8. Groups. To practise talking about having / not having food items.
Exercise 5. Discuss what food you have and haven’t got for a birthday
party
Pretend that you want to do a surprise birthday party for your best friend. Your friend
doesn’t have to cook or prepare anything for the party. You and your friends do it for
him. Divide into groups of three or four and discuss what you have or haven’t got for the
party (уч-ся раздаются по несколько картинок с изображением еды, группы
готовятся несколько минут в соответствии с примером, затем отвечают).
Example: A: let’s see what we’ve got for the party. We’ve got some some (cheese) and
some (tomatoes).
B: but we haven’t got any (oranges) or (juice). Let’s go and buy some.
A: OK, let’s.
9. Homework.
At home try to write a list of five food items you have got in your kitchen. Your work
was hard today. All of you were good. Your marks today are…Goodbye!
