Место в учебном процессе: урок систематизации и обобщения знаний по циклу
"Здоровый образ жизни" для учащихся 10 класса общественно-гуманитарного
направления с углубленным изучением английского языка.
Тема урока: “ Your life is in your own hands” "Твоя жизнь в твоих руках"
(Заключительное занятие по циклу “Здоровый образ жизни”).
Цели урока:
Образовательная:
Формирование коммуникативных навыков (аудирование, чтение, говорение) и
расширение лексического запаса по теме «Здоровый образ жизни» на основе
полученной информации.
Развивающая:
Развитие умений работать в парах и группах и доказывать свою точку зрения по
проблеме.
Воспитательная:
Пропаганда здорового образа жизни, формирование отрицательного отношения к
употреблению наркотиков, алкоголя и курению.
Тип урока: Урок систематизации и обобщения знаний.
Урок с применением ИКТ.
Оборудование и материалы к уроку: компьютер; проектор; класс,
оборудованный персональными компьютерами; наушники; презентация в Power
Point; плакаты.
Предварительная подготовка: учащимся было дано задание приготовить
короткое выступление для ролевой игры.
Продолжительность урока: 45 минут.

1. Enlisting the problems.
(Group work) Group 1 look at the slide during 20 seconds and try to memorize the
pictures and the problems they mentioned. Then they enlist the problems.
Group 2 look at the next slide during 20 seconds and try to memorize the pictures and
problems mentioned. Then they enlist the problems.
Group 3 watch the video and make a list of the problems mentioned. Youth problem.avi
2. Priorities. The groups name the problems they find and answer the question:Which of
the problems do not depend on us and which of them are in our own hands? A brief class
discussion.
3. Ranking. Choose the most deadly problem and explain your choice. (*It’s supposed
they choose “Drug addiction)
IV. Presentation. Input.
1. The reasons of taking drugs.
(Group work- Group 1 and Group 2 work on their personal computers using headphones.
Group 3 look at the screen)

2. Statistics of drug abuse.
(Group work: Group 1 work on their personal computers using headphones. Group 2 and
Group 3 look at the screen)
A) Fill in the blanks. Group 1 - read the sentences about Drug Abuse and Drug
Dependence situation in the world and choose the letter of the word that best fills each

B) Group 2 Look at Central Asia: Use of different drugs and injecting drug use among
officially registered drug users.ppt and Drug Abuse and Drug Dependence Situation in
Kazakhstan.ppt and summarize the information.
C) Group 3 Watch the video on the screen and summarize the

3. Checking and class discussion. Now all the students look at the slide with the statistics
of the drug situation in the world. Group 1 check if their guesses were right and the
whole class discuss the information.
V. Follow Up. Output.
1. Role play “Legalization of drugs”. (Before the lesson the students were given the task
to prepare a short speech on the theme “What do you think about the legalization of
drugs” and they were given roles of a drug addict, a doctor, a parent, a scientist/MP, a
former drug addict)
The teacher appoints 5 students to play their roles. The appointed students play their roles
in front of the class and the others watch and listen.
2. First voting. The students vote for or against the legalization of drugs. They stood up
and go to the posters with the words: “Strongly Agree”, “Agree”, “Strongly Disagree”, or
“Disagree”.
3. Comments. The teacher asks some of the students to explain their choice.
3. Listening to the song. The students listen to the song of Neil Young -The needle and
the damage done (+lyrics).mp4 and then discuss what the song is about.
The students check their guesses looking at the slide with famous people who died
because of drug and alcohol addiction.
5. A brief class discussion. The students read a short verse from the song and say who
those words belong to and what do they mean.
6. Guessing. The students look at the logo and guess the kind of organization to which it
belongs.
7. The students check their guesses and discuss its meaning.
8. The teacher gives some comments on the logo. (* This is a logo of a world famous
organization “Foundation for a drug-free world”. It is a nonprofit organization
headquartered in Los Angeles, California, and dedicated to the eradication of illicit drugs,
their abuse and their attendant criminality. The Drug-Free World campaign is predicated
on the statistically proven fact that wherever young people are presented with the
unvarnished “truth about drugs,” illicit usage drops. Accordingly, the Drug-Free World
information and prevention campaign features thirteen Truth About Drugs bookletsone
for each of the most commonly abused substances. Campaign materials also include an
Educator’s Kit to provide teachers, law enforcement and community groups effective
tools to help young people make the right decision).
VI. Wrap Up. The teacher reads the motto and gives a conclusion against taking drugs,
alcohol and smoking.
VII. Hometask. Write an essay “Your life is in your hands”.
