Hello…Is anyone out there?
Цели и задачи урока: закрепить и расширить знания учащихся по теме “Исследования
космоса», расширить активный словарь английского языка; реализовать межпредметные
связи (английский и астрономия)
Образовательные задачи:
- Учить детей использовать лексику по теме при обсуждении темы урока;
-Расширить знания учащихся по теме «Space technology», расширить активный словарь
английского языка; реализовать межпредметные связи (английский и астрономия)
Воспитательные задачи:
-Привлечь внимание учащихся к проблемам исследования космоса, воспитание
потребности в практическом использовании английского языка, уважения к достижениям
мировой науки.
Развивающие задачи:
-Развивать навыки говорения, монологической и диалогической речи, учить детей
самостоятельно решать проблемы на базе изученной темы, обучать детей делать выводы и
обобщения по основным проблемам темы, способствовать творческой и поисковой
деятельности учащихся; совершенствовать навыки работы с компьютером для учебных
целей; развивать самостоятельность мышления при решении поставленных на уроке
проблем; развитие оперативной памяти и способности к функционально-адекватному
восприятию изученной лексики; формирование интереса к строению солнечной системы,
к достижениям и развитию космической индустрии и астрономии.
Оснащение урока: мультимедийный проектор, экран, ноутбук, СD.
Ход урока
1.Организационный момент:
Обсуждение темы урока, сообщение целей, задач и плана работы. Teacher: Hello, dear
students. How are you? Please sit down. I’m very glad to see you today. Is anybody absent?
Nobody is? That’s fine.
Задачи урока:
T: Children, today we are having an unusual lesson. We've got English and astronomy together.
Today you have a chance to speak about really interesting topic for everyone, about extra-
terrestrial life and aliens. Nowadays it is the top topic throughout the world. The topic of the
lesson is " Space technology ". We've got much work to do today. I'll remember some facts from
the history of space exploration. You are going to do some exercises and of course we'll learn
much interesting.
T: People have dreamed of travelling in space for thousands of years. But it was not until 1957
that it became a reality. On October 4, 1957 the USSR launched the first man-made satellite into
space. It was called Sputnik 1. On April 12, 1961 the soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the
first man to orbit the Earth. The first spacewoman in the world was Valentina Tereshkova. She
made 48 orbits in 1963 in her Vostok 6. On July 20, 1969 the American astronaut Neil
Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the Moon. Progress is inevitable and soon we'll be
able to visit and even live on other planets. The 21st century may turn science fiction into
science fact. Scientists are already at work on the International Space Station, a "city of space". It
will be the size of a football field and will weigh over 200 tons. A team of 10-15 spacemen will
probably be able to live and work at the International Space Station.
2.Warm-up
Space has always been really a romantic idea of people. In a minute say as many words as
possible related to space. (учащиеся называют слова, связанные с космосом)
3.Обучение лексической стороне речи
Complete the sentences with: planets, moons, comet, galaxy, solar system, satellite. Check in the
Word List. Cлайды 1-2
Now, close your eyes and imagine you are in a spaceship. Listen to the music. What can you
see? How do you feel? (1-2 ученика высказываются)
4. Обучение чтению. The explorations of space have been starting many years ago. Could
other life exist in this massive Universe? Is anyone else out there? Can we really be alone? Are
they like you and I? Read the title of the text and the first sentence in each paragraph, p.102,ex.3
a. What is the text about? (1-2 ученика высказываются)
Read and match each sentence (A-H) to a gap (1-7). There is one extra sentence you do not need
to use. Compare with your partner.(p.102, ex.3 b) ( an extra H)
Now, children, listen and read the text again and do exersises 4 and 5 p.102-103(Фронтальный
режим)
Let's review our work and try to do exercise 6, p.103 Cлайды 3-4
5. Обучение говорению.
a) Use your notes to give a 2-minutes talk about searching for aliens.
The SETI programme
-Problems of the SETI programme
-How you can take part (3 ученика высказываются)
b) In pairs, discuss whether or not you believe there is any point to SETI’s activities. Give
reasons. (ученики высказываются)
6. Рефлексия
Teacher : I hope you have learned a lot of interesting information. What was interesting for you?
What did you like at the lesson? (ученики делятся впечатлением)
Teacher : We are a part of The Universe. Experts say that travel to other galaxies will only be
possible in huge «starships». They will travel through space for hundreds or even thousands of
years with many people on board and of course they will need space bases on other
planets. (Ученическая презентация)

Your task is the following- please write it down: exercise 8 at page 103 in your textbooks.
Besides, please think of Words of Wisdom at page 103.
