Сценическая
постановка
As you remember, we are in the
theatre. A couple of young
people came here and they are
searching for their seats. Please,
look!
He: This theatre is beautiful!
Perfect surroundings for an
opera!
She: I agree! So… where are
we sitting? In the stalls?
He: No, the stalls were fully
booked. Our seats are
somewhere in the circle.
Is it serious or curious
situation?
She: Oh, that’s ok… which
raw are we on?
He: Well, let’s see… Our
tickets say W10 and W11 so
that’s… err… five… six rows
up from here… Oh no! We’re
in the very back row!
She: Oh, my goodness, I can
hardly see the stage!
He: Look! there’s a whole
row of empty seats a few rows
further down. Let’s move over
there!
She: I don’t know. They
might be reserved…
He: I don’t think so. The
performance is about to start.
She: Ok, let’s risk it!
He: Ah, that’s better… Oh,
no!
She: What’s now?
He: The man who just sat
down in front of me is really
tall! I can’t see a thing!
It is a curious situation.
IX. Диалоги
Now I offer you to put parts of
the dialogs in the correct order
and read them.
- Did you watch the
musical yesterday?
- Yes, I did. It’s very
different from what I
had seen before.
- - The music was
fascinating and the plot
was thrilling, but
frankly speaking I
didn’t like the acting.
----------------------------------
- Have you seen “Gone
with the Wind”?
- Yes, I have.
- What’s your opinion? Is
it worth seeing?
- It’s one of the best
plays I’ve ever seen. I
was greatly impressed
by it.
-----------------------------------
- Hello! haven’t seen you
for ages. How are you?
- I’m fine, thank you!
And what about you?
- Fine, too! Has your
dream come true?
- Yes, I’m an actress at a
drama theatre, besides I
sometimes play small
roles in films.
- I’m happy for you.
- Thank you.

Look at the board. This is
another quotation of the famous
English writer Bernard Shaw.
Please, read it.

can we transform a sentence

Please, sit at the computer
tables and make the sentences
in the passive voice.

the least that he is not
believed, but that he cannot
believe anyone else.

что ему никто не верит, а в
том, что он сам никому не
может верить.
