I. Warm up.
Look at the photos and match them with the names
of jobs.
II. Text “An Unusual job: a Bodyguard”
1. Introduction.
Who is a bodyguard?
What can you say about this job?
Would you like to be a bodyguard? Why?
Would you like to have a bodyguard? Why?
2. Listen to the text ex 16 p 9 CD 2 and mark
which things aren’t mentioned in it.
3. Read the text aloud in turn and give the
titles to the paragraphs.
Sample:
1) A typically American job.
2) Assassinated presidents.
3) Secret Service agents’ look.
4) Bodyguard training.
5) People they protect.
6) A job of public interest.
4. Lexis practice. In pairs match the phrases
from the text with their Russian and
English synonyms (cards).
5. Look through the text again and highlight
the key sentences or phrases in each
paragraph.

bodyguard. Make an oral request to the head of a Secret Service office.
