Открытый урок в X-XI классах по теме: «TV or not TV

Раздел: Преподавание иностранных языков с применением новых
технологий.
Задачи:
1. Вовлечь учащихся в активную речевую деятельность, с применением
ранее приобретенных знаний, умений и навыков
2. Развивать критическое и логическое мышление при постановке
проблемы, умение аргументировано высказываться.
3. Развивать навыки написания эссе.
Оборудование: компьютер, интерактивная доска.
Ход урока:
I. Oргмомент.
Teacher: I’m very glad to see you. During several days we spoke much about
mass media especially TV
II. Выявление цели урока силами учащихся.
Teacher: Look at the blackboard. What is the theme of our lesson?
Student: The theme of our lesson “TV or not TV?”
Teacher: How do you understand this word combination? Let’s translate it into
Russian.
Учащиеся дают свои варианты перевода.
Teacher: Let’s divide this word combination into 2 parts. TV/ or / not TV?
Where’s the negative part? Учитель ставит знак минус под not TVи знак
плюс под словом TV”. And what is our aim? What are we going to talk
about?
Student 1: In my opinion the main aim is discussing whether TV is good or
bad?
Teacher: Right.

Student 2: To my mind the aim of our lesson is discussing the positive and
negative sides of TV.
T: You are right. We are going to speak about advantages and disadvantages of
television.
III. Работа над лексикой (Повторение)
Look through the word list. I hope that you know all these words. Give the
Russian equivalents of the following words and word combinations.
Foreteller - предсказательница
Prognosticate предсказывать, прогнозировать
Became true стала явью, правдой
Imagine - представить
Magic box - волшебный
Channels - каналы
Programmes - программы
To show - показывать
Goggle box глазастый ящик
Sleep is lost потерянный сон
One-eyed monster одноглазый монстр
To eat up time ест время
To educate дает знания
To kill conversation убивает общение
To inform - информировать
Uneaten - несъеденный
Undone - несделанный
To regulate smb. free time регулировать чье-то время
Demand - требовать
Annoyable - раздражающий
Violence жестокость
Harmful - вредный
To give smb. a company составить кому-то компанию

To be smb. a friend быть кому-то другом
To relax - расслабиться
Selectively - выборочно
Intelligently разумно
Now divide these words and word combinations into 2 groups. 1 group the
words going to the positive sides, showing the advantages of TV, 2 group the
words going to negative sides or showing the disadvantages of TV. Just put
number 1 or 2 by the word.
IV. Речевая зарядка.

4. Why does television play an important role in your life?

10. Do you agree that television is a terrible waste of time?
11. Do you agree that TV has the power to educate?
12. Some people say that television kills conversation. Do you agree?
13. What do think of commercials? Do they annoy you?
14. Do you think that there’s too much violence on TV?
15. Is TV harmful to your health?
16. When it can be unhealthy?
17. What would you do instead of watching TV?
V. Раскрытие основной части урока силами учащихся
T: Give me the simplest definition of the word TVset”. What the old woman,
foreteller had said? What would the people look into?

Student 1: It is a box
На доске нарисовать телевизор, как коробку.
Teacher: What kind of box is it?
Student 2: It is a magic box.
Здесь добавляем усики наверху ящика (Антенны)
Teacher: Why is it a magic box?
Student 3: Because it shows us the world.
Student 4: It educates
Student 5: It informs us
Student 6: It gives us company when we need it
Student 7: It develops different skills.
Все ответы в краткой форме пишутся на доске
What features of TV have we mentioned above? Positive or negative?
Students: Positive.

Student 5: TV can be harmful to our health.
Student 6: Watching TV we can’t go outdoors, to the cinemas, theatres,
restaurants and even we can’t visit our friends, relatives.
