Introduction
School is the place where we meet almost all our future friends, where every day
brings new emotions and new experience. It gives us the opportunity to gain
knowledge, to communicate with friends, to explore the world. Finally, school is
where every weekday children spend even more time than at home from early
morning till evening.
There are certain rules to be followed by all pupils and teachers at school. These rules
make the life at school pleasant and comfortable for everyone involved.
The relevance of our project lies in the necessity to study school rules, to follow these
rules, to tell pupils about them and encourage children to behave well at school.
We are students of the 6-th grade, we love having fun, getting together with our
classmates. Without any doubts, everyone of us loves our school and wants it to be
better. The better the students are, the better the school is. So, we decided to organize
a volunteer project “School rules”, and then create a leaflet to give some information
about it.
The aim of our project work is to make a leaflet «School rules» and to study these
rules with the pupils of the third grade.
To achieve our goal we defined the following objectives:
1) to learn some information about volunteer work;
2) to make a list of qualities of volunteers and compare them with ours;
3) to think what we are able to do as volunteers in our school;
4) to formulate school rules;
5) to organize a project «School rules» in our school;
6) to design a leaflet.

Description of the project
Theoretic part
First of all, to begin our search we decided to find out what the word volunteer
means. Volunteer is a person who helps other people without being forced or paid.
Secondly, we made a list of volunteer’s qualities.
5
Enthusiasm- Being energetic and positive
Flexibility- a volunteer needs to be prepared to grow and learn from the
experience.
Reliability- A volunteer should be able to be on time and do their work
so that they can produce the best results for the organization.
Creative and passionate- Creativity and being passionate about an issue
will bring a bit of fun and excitement
Integrity- Work hard and be honest with everybody. You should be able
to take responsibility for your work
Teamwork- You should be able to follow orders without complaining. If
you show initiative you might also be able to grow your leadership skills.
Communication-A volunteer should be able to listen and communicate
well.
Good organizational skills-Working together as a team will get the job
done.
At last, we found out what can volunteers do. They can:
visit old people,
clean up parks/beaches ,
plant trees,
raise money for charity,
organize and take part in local school events,
help in a hospital,
work with orphans, homeless, animals.
Then we discussed what we would be able to do and decided to organize a local
school event for pupils of the third grade «School rules».
To prepare for this event we formulated school rules. They are:
1. Be on time at the beginning of the day and after lunch
2. Come prepared with supplies and completed homework.
6
3. Be kind, polite to others.
4. Respect your classmates, teachers.
5. Listen to the teacher and classmates.
6. Work hard, and always do your best.
7. Be safe!
8. Raise your hand when you want to answer.
9. Wear a school uniform.
10. Don`t drop litter at school.
11. Don`t eat in the classroom.
Practical part
Our methods of work were:
searching for information on the Internet,
discussing the ways of volunteer work,
organizing a project in our school,
creating a poster with pupils of a primary school,
creating a leaflet with school rules.
To achieve our goal we took the following actions. Firstly, we started to look for
information about volunteers and volunteer work. Then we chose a subject of
exploration, formulated a goal and objectives. We learnt some information about
volunteer work; made a list of qualities of volunteers and compared them with ours.
We discussed what we would be able to do as volunteers in our school, discussed
school rules in our group, worked with pupils of the 3rd grade, told them some rules,
created a poster together. They could draw pictures, learn some new words,
communicate with us, work in a team and have fun.
At last, we created a leaflet talking about school rules.
7
Conclusion
To sum up, we would like to say that we have achieved our aim and created a
leaflet with school rules. Our leaflet is not only attractive but it is also useful and
informative, especially for pupils of primary school. Teachers can use this leaflet to
study school rules with children. We enjoyed the process, especially because we had
an opportunity to act together with our classmates. We learnt new words and
information. Also, we could communicate with younger pupils. They were happy to
work with us.
